As has been stated many times - some of this set of producers/investors are unusually wealthy, even for Broadway investors. They're also unusually bone-headed and stubborn about admitting failure. But they can easily afford to be.
damn. Other producers better be getting these in transit investors' contact info
But quite often, even the wealthiest prove to be masters of frugality.
These people are obviously glowing exceptions.
There are numerous charities out there just lcrying for their money.
And they could have written it off besides.
And the poor get poorer.
One year from now, who'll even remember In Transit?
Can't they just bring back FUN HOME? I miss CERVERIS!

Took the words right out of my mouth. That great musical had to close to make room for a capella adventures on the subway
I love how we're almost at the 5-month mark of this thread, and IT is still going, with no closing date announced.

Did In Transit actually have anything to do with this? I LOVED Fun Home and enjoyed In Transit, and I don't understand the mentality that one was vying for the space and gave the other the closing date that it did.
What do Sir Paul McCartney, Hillary Clinton, and Dr. Ruth have in common?
Their names are all getting dropped on In Transit's new web sidebar ad.

And I still can't believe they ran for this long!

Kind of surprising that they went this long, only to post a 5-day notice.
Why not just wait for Tony noms...

It happened to Tuck Everlasting from last season. As soon and unfair as it is, Equity states they only have to provide a week's notice before their final performance.

Assuming Aladdin has a 2 week put in rehearsal process, in theory he could start as early as the first week in May. If it is longer or he decides to take time off, I'd imagine another 2-3 weeks afterwards

Yes, yes, we know, we know. We go through this on most closing threads.
I think trpguyy was more so talking about how long the show went on for only to post a 5-day notice. Not that he is surprised it's only 5-days notice. If that makes sense.

Does anyone think they really had a shot at any Tony noms? Certainly not anything that would sway ticket buyers. I suspect Amelie is next...

No. Not really. But one would think that because they held out for this long without seeing a penny they'd continue to do so until noms.

I'm just confused why now? Did the producers just run out of money? Was their advance getting worse? It seems stupid to wait all this time with a failing show only to post a 5 day closing notice.

Why throw in the towel now?
It makes little to no sense. That said, it fits the show's M.O. to a tee. In Transit's run has made little to no sense from the beginning.
Another show must want the theater soon.
We live in a world with rich irrational people. I didn't think I'd have to explain that again.
