I had a cat named Murray Moskowitz, after a (never-seen, dead)character in a play - I was working for an actress in said play at the time I rescued the kitty.
When I was a teenager I had a dog named Jaffee, after the John Cullum character in ON THE TWENTIETH CENTURY. That dog was as crazy as the character in the show.

I have a dog named HIGGINS (My Fair Lady)
I've always thought the name Fosca was cute, even if the character is not.

My cat's name was Xerxes -- which, of course, was a historical figure, but known to me at the time because of the opera.
I also had a very hairy cat named Sampson (ignore the extra p, please) to follow that trend.
And a dog named Trixie, but that was ages before "The Drowsy Chaperone."
Tobias. It's not that original, but I love the name.

My cat is named Fiyero because he is "Dancing Through Life."
My dog's name is Dulcinea (Man of la Mancha).
If I have a daughter I want to name her Johanna...it's just such a pretty name.
My best friend just adopted a 10 week old Spring Spaniel who has very shifty, vacant eyes and is constantly chasing her own shadow. Really, she's adorable but super crazy. I've been trying to convince my friend to rename her 'LUCY BARKER' because I think the name fits perfectly.
Don't think she's going to do it though.

Not really unique, but I love the name Charlotte (A little night music)
but I really want to name my daughter Abra (from east of eden)
i think moritz would be funny for a fiesty puppy or something, ahha. or even melchi would be cute!
and i would name my daughter ilse. i think it's so pretty.
and also for a girl, nessa rose. as first name and middle name. and cossette would be pretty also. but then everyone would give her a hard time, i bet.
i would love for someone to name a pet ruprecht. hahaha i would laugh hysterically.
that was fun.
If I had 2 Cats I would name them Jekyll & the other Hyde
Come to think of it, you could give 2 kids similar names
"If I have a daughter I want to name her Johanna...it's just such a pretty name."
I agree. I just love that name.
Fenchurch - I had a cat that I named Pyewacket. I called him PeeWee for short.
Has anyone ever thought of naming their kid Topanga?
Two mice, one called Tobias (which isn't so original) and one called Enjolras (which is a little more so). Four other pets, but no other theatrical names.
As for kids... sometimes I think "Nessarose is actually a lovely name for a girl!". Then I think "I am so never having kids!", so it's not much of a thought. I'm saving the name Arthur for a son or a German Shepherd, and it is *mostly* because of 'Camelot', so even though it's hardly unique, it still counts. :3
I think that Cosette is absolutly the cutest name for a little girl ever... True, I dislike the grown Cosette charecter, but still... Johanna is a pretty name, too...
