...that's because The Wedding Singer is on it's way out! re: Upcoming Broadway on The View - Grey Gardens, Times, Tarzan +

Already have my VCR set for Wednesday's The View...looking forward to all the bull**** they say about how great the show is and how everyone should go see it. I can't possibly imagine that RAGGEDY ANN was worse than THE TIMES.

I can't wait to see all these performances. I love the View. I'm not sure why, but they make me laugh.

Anyone posting on "there?"
My VCR is pretty screwed up, not sure if I can tape it.
Im also seeing Les Mis on Nov. 14th! Guess i'll have a pretty broadway-filled day!

...that's because The Wedding Singer is on it's way out!

And comments like that, my friends, are what separates those with class from those without.

Michael Arden (and cast) on the View, another reason to get up before 11.

I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

I guess I'm classy, because I agree! Wedding Singer is leaving sooner than later!

...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...

So close...but so wrong.

FOAnatic, it was just my way of saying that I don't like The Wedding Singer...I understand that people like it, but I do not think it belongs in a Broadway house.

That part with the "I'm With Stupid" and "Stupid" t-shirts was so low class. The entire show just rubbed me the wrong way. Sorry you disagree, but that's just my opinion.

I respect your opinion.

But it's one thing to do it in a classy way...the other is to be obnoxious and celebrate the fact that it may not be around much longer. It's clearly meant to bother those who like it.

There's lots of shows I don't like...but I don't proclaim my glee when they're in trouble. At least not on messageboards. I keep it to myself if I have nothing nice to say.

And, not everything on Broadway has to be highbrow. TWS appeals to families and people of all walks of life. I can't tell you the WIDE variety of people I've sent to see the show who came back praising it. Young, old, rich, not-so rich, snooty, etc. have all come back to thanking me for recommending it.

Just because you go for ONLY "high class" theatre, as you put it...gives you no right to proclaim what does and doesn't belong in a Broadway theatre.

I agree with you that a wide variety of people like it. I told my uncle he would HATE it, and he ended up LOVING it. Just goes to show you that people should see shows for themselves and make their own decisions.

Oh, and I like plenty of "low class" theatre, including Bring Back Birdie and Raggedy Ann.

I am not a Rosie fan at all. But kudos to her for getting more Broadway performers/performances on the View.

I have not seen Wedding Singer, but I take it they must wear the "I'm With Stupid" and "Stupid" T-shirts. If I am not mistaken, the show takes place in the 80's. If so, those t-shirts were quite popular then (I had one!) and sounds like they would fit perfectly into the show!
