I thought it was pretty good. I can't believe they let her strip on tv so early in the day. Granted, it's pretty tame, but it seemed like a performance that would have been more acceptable for the prudes on one of the late night shows.

I had the same thought I usually have when I see her - she has to be one of the most beautiful creatures who has ever lived. She just turned 47, and looks like THAT!
I agree, Q. I was astounded to see how gorgeous she looks when I saw her in the show. Wow!

I watched that and then disappeared for about half an hour......
Oh my, Regis is a bit excited . I liked the performance. Vanessa does not look 47, wow!

Based on that great performance I would have thought the show was amazing...but it ain't.
Where was Euan Morton?
she is absolutely stunning and so articulate in interviews.
it sort of surprises me about her complexion. she was a part of an infomercial for bad skin and up close you can see it. i know that doesn't matter a whole heap, but was just surprised.
Mildred, I had that same though!
She's fantastic! I think she's making some serious ground to make up for her witch in this show.

Omg, I just got this now. Or my mind is in the gutter, lol.

I liked when she was stripped from a nightie to an equally sized and shaped nightie. Racy!
Vanessa Williams's work on Sondheim on Sondheim far surpasses her work in Into the Woods. She's sounding great and I think that this kind of material - along with other songs she sings in the show (like "Losing My Mind") - suits her better than the Witch's songs. While I'm not crazy about the fact that this number is basically Williams and a handful of boys - one of the reductions that unfortunately goes part and parcel with the revue format - the number is better suited to a generic revue setting than it was in London's Follies, where it was a compromise made for the actress and the production, one that only served to remind those who know better that it's a substitute for a song that works better for both the character and the show. I can't believe it still ends up in productions of Follies today. So, yes, I enjoyed Williams's performance on Live! with Regis and Kelly and I also found it quite amusing that Regis seemed a bit worked up at the end of the song.
What do you think she was still wearing after she disappeared off-camera and threw the costume back to the boys? The dressing gown - and Regis's reaction - indicates it was not much.

She was wearing no less than when she scampered out of camera range.
You're probably right but I prefer to fantasize.
