WHO'S HOLIDAY to Broadway This Year?

Lesli made it worth seeing. It wasn't atrocious but it wasn't high art either. Maybe it could sell better with a name but I can't imagine its reception without her. She really managed to sell some weak material. Also, it seemed like it was selling badly off-Broadway in a small-ish house so if they're serious about Broadway they must have some name in mind. Just visually I'd say Chenoweth but I don't think she'd do it or that her humor fits the part.

I don’t think she would turn down a spot on Broadway. Plus, a standby for a solo part and for a big star? Maybe even getting some matinees? Sounds great. However, judging by her tweet, maybe some bridges have been burned?

Matthew Lombardo's two Broadway plays before this had a combined 40 performances, so he'd definitely need a star to pull this off.

I thought the design was nice off-Broadway, but I couldn't see this playing anywhere else but the Booth or Circle considering there's audience interaction.

I'm not familiar with this show, but I would love to see Kristin Chenoweth back on Broadway. I have no idea however if she'd be incredibly miscast in this or not though and I'd definitely want to avoid that.

I could also see this potentially going to the Belasco, because it seems incredibly likely that it'll be open around that time.

I'd love to see a Kate McKinnon or Kristen Wiig! I think they'd both absolutely kill in this, as would Melissa McCarthy. I don't know if they'd be interested or have the time to do it though, even just for two months.

Unless there is additional dialogue or music added I can't image anyone, star or otherwise , pullingoff this "little" gem in any Broadway house."

I agree. She was pitch perfect. I was excited when Simard was attached but when Leslie was announced I was even more excited. She was wonderful in MATILDA and i had the pleasure of hanging out with her one evening and she had me on the floor. I walked out of the theater with a big smile on my face and filled with Holiday spirit.

Also, I thought they won this suite already which enabled them to do the show last year.

I was thinking the same thing! If this ends up happening, I hope they get a fun movie/tv star to make their broadway debut. Amy Poehler would be a ton of fun!

Dr. Seuss Enterprises appealed the original decision.

Ahh. I missed that.

I think the only other actress that would get me back in to see it again if Leslie doesn't do it is Chenoweth.
