WHO'S HOLIDAY to Broadway This Year?

Well this is random.

I mean, I'm glad it was ruled as a parody, and hey, having Lesli Margherita back on Broadway might be a plus, but... this show was uniformly written and performed as nothing more than a limited, Off-Broadway one-woman show. It would be unabashedly dwarfed in a Broadway house. Where could this even go? The Lyceum maybe, considering nothing's been announced to go in there for the fall?

Can Leslie get her Tony nomination now please? And I would love to see Sarah Silverman as a potential replacement. She proved that she can play Cindy Lou with being Vanellope on her shoulders.

I think the real question is where is this going? Its a one woman show with, although I love her to death, a No Name outside of the Broadway community. Yes its a parody of one of the most well know Christmas stories in American history, but will that be able to sell 1000+ tickets at over $100 a pop for 2 months?  All off the smaller play houses are booked through January. The smallest house that will be open come fall is The Lyceum which is not the best for foot traffic in a show that's going to need it.

I would love to see Lesli back on broadway but part of me feels like she wont be returning with the production.

Lyceum or Longacre as a short holiday engagement?

Wasn't Jennifer Simard attached to this prior to Lesli's involvement?

Is the Booth booked? The Hayes? Those are the two smallest houses.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

American Son is going into the Booth in the fall, while Torch Song is going to be at the Helen Hayes.

Oh, wow. Probably means she won't be doing it, which is a shame, considering how good she is. Can the girl get a huge role and Tony nomination already? Sometimes it feels like she can't catch a break on Broadway.

I’d imagine they’d be trying to court a celeb for this. Maybe Circle if Once on This Island closes?

Sorry, this is a cute, fun, little show...but the only way it's getting a Broadway house is if Bette Midler decides she wants to do it.  Without an A list star, the weekly grosses would make HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS seem like HAMILTON!

Lesli could also be the standby if they get a name. Let's see if it ever gets officially announced.

I wouldn't mind is an Amy Schumer or Sarah Silverman took this to Broadway with maybe Lesli being the a standby or Matinee cover.

It barely sold off-Broadway. Who would think this is a good idea?

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

I have good money on them pulling in a star for this. No way this will sell on Lesli Margherita alone, and I'm still mad she wasn't nominated for DAMES AT SEA.

In what world would Lesli Margherita ever accept being a standby for a bigger star? That's just ridiculous! She's Lesli Freaking Margherita - talented as hell, funny as hell, and bonkers as hell! ;D

I doubt this ever materializes. This will be one of those shows that’s “just waiting for a theater” that is never heard from again.

Margerhita was pitch-perfect in this last year. It was a delicious 75 minute ( yes, I timed it) romp which she handled with frenetic and joyous gusto. Unless there is additional dialogue or music added I can't image anyone, star or otherwise , pulling off this "little" gem in any Broadway house.

Considering Amy Schumer would seem to be a perfect fit for this:
Shes has policized herself out of a film career
A washed up pretty girl is a role she excels at
Shes NY based and it’d be a 2 month run at most.
She seemed to enjoy doing Broadway last year
She was able to sell a clunker of a play
Her Name recognition alone could get it a Netflix or HBO filming deal.

It might actually work.

Lesli made it worth seeing. It wasn't atrocious but it wasn't high art either. Maybe it could sell better with a name but I can't imagine its reception without her. She really managed to sell some weak material. Also, it seemed like it was selling badly off-Broadway in a small-ish house so if they're serious about Broadway they must have some name in mind. Just visually I'd say Chenoweth but I don't think she'd do it or that her humor fits the part.
