For me - of actor/singers I have actually seen live in a musical - it's a choice between BRENT BARRETT and JOHN BARROWMAN.
But the star I would most love to see live in a musical role is MANDY PATINKIN. He's a great actor and his voice thrills and moves me every time I listen to him sing. I was privileged to attend one of his concerts at the Almeida theater in London back in 1996 - just a bare stage with Mandy and pianist Paul Ford - and that is still the most wonderful evening I have ever spent in a theater anywhere. He is sheer magic.

Norbert Leo Butz has definitely been one of my recent favorites. L5Y is such a great showcase for his amazing talent. And his Wicked songs just reaffirm my belief that he is ubertalented. I also like Hugh Jackman, Raul Esparza, and Anthony Rapp (where are you? I need another recording with you on it). I'm sure there are more I just can't think of right now. I'll post more later.

Posted: 12/23/03 at 9:46amI do like John Barrowman, and I would also have to say Jeff McCarthy, Hunter Foster and John Dossett. John Dossett doesn't have the greatest singing voice, but there's something about him...he has a great stage presence.
