Woman sitting next to us started sleeping about 10 minutes into the show. About 10 minutes before the end of act 1 she applauded at the end of a musical number. She than went back to sleep. At intermission she left. Must have money to burn.
Great show by the way

She could have sleep apnea- people who have that can drift in and out of what seems like sleep, but are actually somewhat alert.
I thought you were going to say she complimented you on the intelligence of your posts on BWW. THAT would have been weird.

I think she just did not get it
Bob. Stick it where the sun does not shine.
You are now on my ignore list so you can rip me all you want.
How much could she possibly have missed? She didn't see too much.
Perhaps she was traveling all day and didn't realize how tired she would be. I've fallen asleep at the theater, live and movie....exhaustion can do that to you.
Seeing how she slept all of act 1 and left at intermission I would say she missed it all.
I wanted to sleep. I was so bored.

maybe she was bored who cares. Its not weird and I am not sure what the purpose of this post is.

I'm done this as well and for a couple of shows I really wanted to see! (There's something about sitting in the high balcony for opera that has an hypnotic effect on me (and not in the good way).)
In the wayang kulit, a form of Balinese shadow-puppet play, productions run for 9 hours, roughly from 9 p.m. to dawn. It is assumed that audience members will fall asleep during the slower parts, but (a) the real "audience" is the gods, as the connection between sacred ritual and theatrical imitation remains strong; and (b) the Balinese believe that the soul of a human spectator follows the play even when his/her conscious mind is asleep.
So there's that.
Was it this lady by any chance?
That happened to me at Spiderman version 1, however the show done wonders for my sex life, as I ended up sleeping with the rest of the audience,
Not that this is the case, but I have a legally blind friend who goes to a lot of theatre and sits there with his eyes totally closed. Most people think he is asleep, but he is not -- just seeing it in his mind.
She snored on and off.
I know I personally fell asleep during Act I of Christmas Story last year. I had pulled an all nighted and the score was just so soothing I couldn't help but doze off a bit. I then got some Hot Chocolate since they weirdly enough should that at the concession during intermission, and perked up for Act II. I felt bad, but I hey I already spent the money, and despite the fact that I missed 20minutes I thoroughly enjoyed the show.

Bob, welcome to Roxy's ignore list, where you can rip him all you want, and when you do, you'll get a PM from him saying not to waste your time doing that any more because you're on his ignore list and also not to waste your time responding to the PM because he won't be reading it. It's a delightful little circle to watch him run in.
Growl, this is the second time I've been awarded this accolade. I heard that if someone makes it to 3, you can bring copies of each of the 3 posts in which he said you'd be blocked to the Chevy's on 42nd and you get a free dessert with the purchase of an adult entrée.

Fisherman Bob is my new hero!!!
The condescendingly brilliant snark and sarcasm in that paragraph is so rich and thick you can spread it on a cracker and eat it!
LOVE!!
