Just saw the first preview and all I have to say is this show is BRILLIANT... Christine Baranski will make you pee you pants.. There was nothing I didn't like... Ran around 2hr 45mins.. GO SEE THIS SHOW.. Its going to be a huge hit!
That was one hell of a first preview. I absolutely loved every single character. The actors were all so fantastic!!
Between this show and IS HE DEAD, BB is the funnier play. There were times when I was in tears.
Again, fantastic actors..all of them! They were all at the top of their game.
It ran a little longer than I expected..and I found myself getting tired from laughing so much.
I have had a great week. I saw GYPSY on Tuesday, FROM UP HERE on Thursday, ADDING MACHINE yesterdey, and BOEING-BOEING today. Great week.

Saw it tonight, along with WAT.
It was FANTASTIC. I can't wait to go back and see it again. I laughed so hard.
For a first preview, this show is TIGHT. You would never know this was the first public performance. The laughs just keep on coming, and it never lets up the entire three hour running time. It flew by.
The cast is uniformly fantastic. Baranski is a riot as the maid. Bradley Whitford, whom I loved on The West Wing, acquits himself very onstage. Mark Rylance, the London holdover, does a great job playing the meek American from Wisconsin. All three flight attendants are fantastic, but Mary McCormack was the standout.
This is a HILARIOUS evening of theater that I highly recommend. Go see it!!!!!!
Tonight was great - Bradley Whitford was much stronger than at the dress and got more laughs (that gorilla walk was pretty amazing). Gina Gershon was missing a few of her bits from the afternoon but was still great. The whole cast is fabulous. SO FUNNY!
For reference, with the rennovations to the Longacre, what's front row of the Center Orchestra? I have Row A - 105 and 106 for June 4th. I hope those are good.
Yeah the curtain call is pretty amazing, particularly Baranski rocking the maracas.
There was this thing I missed from the afternoon where Rylance fell over the chair while being "manly" and ended up on the floor. He proceeded to duck behind it and pretend he was in a "manly" shootout. His new business was hilarious, though. I love the pink hat.

I know! and she threw her lollipop out into the audience! Holy **** I love her!
LimelightMike, I think I walked passed you today. I recognized you from your avatars.. Were you holding a Sunday in the Park window card?
First Row Center Orchestra sounds pretty good to me. I don't know if it's too close or not. I got 2nd row center mezz, and the guy sitting in front of me was tall and had spikey hair..I constantly had to reposition to see the stage..but other than that, I loved sitting in the mezz.
I had never been to the Longacre before. It's quite nice. The size is comparable to The Cort and The Lyceum, but it's much nicer, probably because of the recent renovations.

very, THAT WAS TOTALLY ME! Haha!
With my big ol' SUNDAY... poster ($40 to a totally amazing cause), and a few PLAYBILLs, yes!
You *totally* should've stopped me!
Where'd you spot me!?
By Starbucks on 51st St..the one by Ellen's Stardust Diner.
I'll stop you next time
Seriously, though, Mr. Nichols and the cast of The Country Girl should take a page from Boeing-Boeing's book. Everyone knew their lines, even!
I'm seeing A CATERED AFFAIR with my sis on Monday.
Look for me!
I am *SOOOOO* looking forward to this show!!!

Sounds like a blast !!! Great response from ATC board as well !
Just got a tic for Weds mat on TDF.
I have to say that I loved the show tonight. I was laughing from start to finish. It was a VERY FAST 3 hours.
The entire cast was phenomenal. I adore Christine Baranski and tonight, she proved to be a comedic genius. She should really stick to roles like this rather than MAME (which I didn't really care for her in). She was stunning as the maid...her French accent was great and I LOVED her huge scream in Act 2 (those of you who saw the play know what I'm talking about). Every single line delivery was perfect.
Bradley Whitford was excellent as Bernard. He was so neurotic in Act 2 when all three flight attendents "collided" in his world. It was hilarious. And the aforementioned "gorilla walk" was amazing...it reminded me of Andre DeShields in PRYMATE, which played at the Longacre in May 2004!
Mark Rylance was perfect as Robert. So meek and innocent at first, and to watch his character develop before your eyes is incredible. Fantastic job.
Loved all three flight attendants: Kathryn Hahn, Gina Gershon and Mary McCormack. All three had their moments to shine...and I LOVED the color scheme of their flight attendant outfits and how it fit together with the set of Bernard's upscale Paris apartment.
The stage door was MOBBED for a play with virtually no star power. About 30 people were there. No barricades were set up. It took about an hour and 15 minuntes (I guess they had a lot of notes), but the entire cast came out and signed and took pictures. Christine Baranski even signed my NICK & NORA playbill (which she DOES NOT credit in her bio).
Overall, a wonderful evening out at the theater. I would highly recommend this play to ANYONE. Congrats to the cast and crew of a very successful first preview. I hope this show catches on with the tourists and ends up being a huge hit.
My favorite Christine Baranski moment was in act 1 when she appeared at the porthole on the kitchen door. She didn't say a word, but the expression was priceless!
I've never been to the Longacre Theatre before and want to see BOEING-BOEING. How high is the stage? How would the view from the first row center orchestra be? Too close?
WAT - I missed you again, but I think I heard Baranski talking to you about the playbill. I heard "WHERE DID YOU GET THIS???" It took so long for them to come out because they were partying backstage, and as each came out they kept asking "Didn't ____ come out yet?" I wonder if they were all at the same party or what.
Maurice, you should be fine there, but I'd sit a few rows back to get more of the full picture.
Thanks.
Adam, yes, I LOVED that. Her scream was amazing too. I have to say again how much Mary McCormack impressed me. I had no idea she was so funny. Loved her charging at Whitford like a bull and Rylance holding her back.
Speaking of the stage door (this is the second time I've stage doored in a month and I've decided I really don't like doing it, but in this case I had to), Gina Gershon had a friend waiting for her at the airport and she still signed and took pictures. Despite her mentioning this fact, people were still clamoring to snap photos of her with their daughters. I kind of wanted to slap them.
After reading this thread, I went right to telecharge and booked a seat for Friday night. Somehow I got front row orchestra on the aisle, with the discount code. Really looking forward to this!
Last night was FANTASTIC. I was pleasently surprised. I would highly recommend it to anyone. Simply hysterical from start to finish!!!
At first I was a bit worried about Bradley Whitford. I LOVED him in both West Wing and Studio 60- so I was super excited to see him. He seemed a bit awkward in the begining trying to find his way into the character but after 10 mins or so he proved to be quiet hysterical.
Christine Beranski was GREAT and totally unrecognizeable as the maid. I heard several people around me go- I couldnt even tell that it was her!"
I think the award for best performances clearly go to Mark Rylance and Mary McCormack who steal the show.
Gina Gershon is great as well and WOW- she looks stunning.
Also, Kathryn Hahn truely holds her own up against some big stars!
It took forever for the actors to come out the stage door- due to a little post-first-preview celebration. And I simply loved that Mr. Whitford bikes to and from work. GO GREEN!
Oh, I forgot to mention. I sat front row mezzonine- and it was PERFECT. For the person who was asking its a great place to sit.
I'm sorry we missed each other too, ShbrtAlley44...and UglyBetty, you were at the stage door too? Too bad none of us knew/recognized each other.
Still thinking about how fun the show was last night...a GREAT way to end my five-show week.
Yea I was going to see another show, but after seeing a million shows this week there was no way to go see another!!! I was SHOWED OUT!
This week I saw, Macbeth, Curtains, Passing Strange, Grease, A Chorus Line, A Catered Affair, In The Heights, August, and Boeing Being.
