Sorry I'm a little late in this reply (hockey this morning... 'nuff said...I had to go to sleep last night, or at least try)
Soo--
Thanks for another update :)
Rent to Little Shop music wise must be a little...yeah... odd. Decades of difference (even quite literally) between the musical schemes... but the characters-- I kinda see some potentially similar characteristics, depending on the actors' protrayal, between Mark and Seymour...
Anyway, its very nice to hear that day deux went well like day one (from my understanding from your descriptions of both days, it sounds so). Can you imagine if third times the charm, and times one and two went so well...:) Speculation will ensue regarding the opening and the possible reincluded songs. (I have my own speculative hypotheses already about the intro hehe)
Hope it's all fun and you're enjoying yourself (also seems so--and kinda is the most important part...)!
...collaboration. From all concerned. It's happening, and then some.

*quick fangirl-squeal*
Adam and Anthony, working together again... and the re-inclusion of songs. REALLY want it to be Contact.

I'M pushing for Halloween. But that's just me (or not). I really love Christmas Bells, but have made my peace with why it wouldn't be in the movie.
Not that my opinion'll have any bearing on what happens, but it's still a nice thing to have!

Something tells me not to bet on Contact.
a bit OT, but Your Eyes is in, yes? Please say yes. They have the Adam, now they need the song. The end.

yes, your eyes is in. what would be the point of roger if it wasn't? throughtout the entire show he tries to find his "one song glory"... then they just wouldn't include it??

Well they could be like "Roger found his song" and not have him sing it. Stranger things have happened.
Gah. Adam.

^^ i can add that to the list of "if this happens i'm not seeing the movie"

Waitwaitwait, since when is there no 'Your Eyes'? That's necessary to tie up the plot. Roger has to resolve his conflict by writing his song.

"Your Eyes" IS in the movie, at least according to the list Anthony posted on the "Late-breaking RENT film casting news" thread. Lord...I can only imagine the hue and cry if it were cut!

Maybe doing the song Contact is unfeasible, but I would like to see something in the movie that carries out the same function it had on stage.
ETA: Anthony, are you doing strictly musical rehearsals right now?

The Chbosky script (I think) has Contact playing in a rave club, and Angel sings his part onstage. I actually liked that interpretation.
And I would love Halloween in there too. (Can't help it- I am *such* a Mark fangirl. A sane one, at that.)

Okay so if we're speculating...
"re-inclusion of songs" could mean re-inclusion from NYTW, could it not?
I'm still pushing for Open Road.

But wasn't Open Road (great song) kinda the original place for What You Own?
Shizznit. Great Roger song v. my fave duet from the entire show. GAH!

Maybe on stage. I think they could conceivably both be done on screen.

Hey all --
Just so you know, I had two shows of Little Shop today, so I didn't head out to Treasure Island for Rent.
I'm enjoying reading your speculations. And when things are settled on our end I should be able to tell you what's in for sure. We need to record them all soon, so they need to figure it out asap.
Hope you all are having a fine day.
Anthony

i'm glad you enjoyed our speculations, as we knew you would
i'm glad the final track list will be settled soon -- there's only so much energy i can use debating
can you give us a SMALL hint? are any of the songs from the rent workshop?
