No, he hasn't. Which would have taken fewer keystrokes then his uppity answer.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Thanks, Mama! He posts so incessantly that it's hard to keep up. And his post doesn't allude to him not actually seeing the shows. It's laughable that he's comparing them and making predictions without seeing them.

Would i like to see the shows? yeah. But it doesn't take a genius to figure out who are the frontrunners for the awards.

Sure you can say " You havent seen the shows so what do you know". But can you honestly disagree with me and say that Andrea Martin isn't the frontrunner for the Tony? Can you Honestly tell me that Bertie or Porter aren't going to win the tony? Can you really tell me that MATILDA isnt very much the frontrunner for best musical? I dont think you can without lying to yourself. My comments basically mirror what most of this board have said. Could i be wrong about my predictions? Absolutely but you can't tell me im wrong until we know the results so until then..

You stating which is the better show is what I had an issue with.

"You stating which is the better show is what I had an issue with."

Well then just say that instead of being rude. I also dont know why you are saying i post incessantly. I haven't started a thread in weeks besides the one today and I have hardly been on here for weeks because of school. Its fine if you dont like me judging shows without seeing them? I dont like it either, id much rather judge the show after i have seen them but unfortunately i cant.

Considering how open-ended the criteria are for what constitutes "Best" by the real Tony voters, it doesn't matter if any of us saw a show or not to express an opinion.

If the majority of Tony voters elect Kinky Boots "Best Musical" because it made then "feel better" than Matilda, or because Matilda won't need the Tony to generate income if it goes on tour, then that's just the way it will go... (Not saying those reasons apply to KB, just using them as examples. Flip the show titles if needed.)

Why would anyone need to actually see a show when there's enough other resources available to make a decision? Updated On: 5/26/13 at 04:24 PM

Because its not an opinion, its just regurgitating other's thoughts.

>> Because its not an opinion, its just regurgitating other's thoughts.

I completely agree with you when it comes to picking the performance Tonys (Best Actor/Actress, etc...), but even in those instances (I'm thinking of Bertie Carvel, specifically because his work is what I'm most familiar with) there's room to follow the real Tony voters' lead.

In the case of Carvel, Even if I hadn't seen Matilda, I've seen some of his past work, seen portions of his current performance via the Internet, and heard his performance on the OLC CD. He's my favorite because I "know him" better than the other nominees.

Again, because there is little established criteria, even the real Tony voters can base their vote on a DVD of the performance.

I take your point, though. I'd be more inclined to agree or disagree with broadway guy if he were a little more thoughtful regarding "why" he makes his choices, other than to say, "I don't care that much for either one and i don't care really who wins."

I don't see any point to making a prediction at all under those circumstances - expect to gloat at a later date... "See??? It's just how I predicted it!"

John, you're now bold facing not just show names, but anything at all that pops into your mind as needing emphasis. Man, we LOVE your poster designs, and your many other graphics satires-- they're brilliant! But PLEASE consider avoiding bold face in your everyday posts, purely from the aesthetic criterion if no other.

Thanks, your otherwise fan
