Sondheim is a complete class act. Despite his recently rumored fall out with Laurents, he was still at the recording session, and he seems very happy.

I think Lenny would be enormously enthusiastic because the show's a hit- Sondheim

Great to see him coaching the actors and showing such enthusiasm for the cast and the production though.

Apparently Sondheim made some suggestions during previews, and Laurents wasn't happy. That was the rumor.


Still Sondheim is the definition of class.

Hopefully, Sondheim told him that he was ruining the show! That would make Sondheim even more of a god in my opinion

I've listened to it, and the cast recording sounds great. I didn't even care for the production that much, but I see myself listening to the cast recording often.

Say what you want about the production, but this recording is BEAUTIFUL.

Matt Cavenaugh sounds fantastic, his vibrato is perfect.

Karen really did go all out, as did Josefina. Her acting and singing during A Boy like That/I Have A Lot is just heart wrenching.
