Craig Carnelia
Andrew Lippa
Mark Hollman/ Greg Kotis
Richard Maltby Jr./ David Shire

LaChiusa
Duncan Sheik (the lyrics in Spring Awakening may be disjointed, iffy and ambiguous, but Sheiks score is amazing)
I'd like to hear another Lucy Simon score.
But of course.. how could any true lover of musical theatre NOT want to hear a new Sondheim score?
-SONDHEIM
-Benny Anderson
-Shonberg and Bublil (sp?) please give us something other than Pirate Queen
-PUKE if JRBrown makes it to Broadway. I will not be in attendance

C'mon, the winner is clearly Sondheim. How could you ever go wrong?
Wait...scratch that. Make that Sondheim, pre-Bounce.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ahrens & Flaherty return to composing something for the great white way either...

Kander & Ebb. It still kills me that this can never happen again.
not Jerry Herman, he's a hack.
Sondheim needs to do one last show - but not "Bounce" - maybe a full stage version of "Evening Primrose"
Kander & Ebb can come back one more time with "The Visit" - PLEASE!!!!
Guettel and Robert Brown need to come back.
Can Ian Gordon finally make it to Broadway?

Strouse with "Marty"
Kander(&Ebb) with "The Visit"
Cy Coleman with "Ostrovsky"
Sondheim with whatever (I even liked Bounce, the score was enjoyable)
Hamlish had been mentioned, yes
Jerry Herman (though I doubt he'll do another show and Miss Spectacular wasn't exactly a dramatized work)
Schmidt & Jones (though Harvey Schmidt would have to withdraw from his retired life)
Maury Yeston (he hasn't had a show since Titanic)
Marc Shaiman (of course with Catch me if you can, which is a highly enjoyable score)
Flaherty & Ahrens, yes, but they'll come anyway with their "Rocky" adaption. Which sounds somewhat ... to me.
I'm a little reluctant about JR Brown since I wasn't exactly in awe of what I listened of his new shows that head to Broadway. But of course I would go see his shows as well, he's generally a talented composer.
Marvin Hamlisch , PLEASEEEE
Jerry Herman's a hack? Then you, dfwtheatreguy, are a moron.
I would love to see Charles Strouse with one more big fat Broadway hit. Even when some of his shows failed, there was always something to admire in his music.
Joe Raposo (unfortunately, he's no longer with us, but I would love to see a Raggedy Ann revival)
Charles Strouse and Lee Adams with It's a Bird! It's a Plane! It's Superman! I saw the concert version with Cheyenne Jackson and Shoshana Bean and I loved it! And with the proper staging it could be amazing!
And Sondheim, pre-Bounce!
Maury Yeston.

Definitely JERRY HERMAN
Frank Wildhorn
Keep Sondheim as far from Broadway as possible. The ONLY decent score was Little Night Music
Maury Yeston & David Yazbek...and Charles Strouse (w/ Lee Adams)!
Jonathan Larson.
'Cause we all know how likely that is.

I could've sworn I heard that Jerry Herman vowed never to write another Broadway show after La Cage. I forget if it was just a rumour though, does anyone know?
Jason Robert Brown
Jerry Herman, definitely (and the guy who said he's a hack... well, how do you even respond to such dumbarsery?)
Yeston is a yes!
JRB for sure. His best work is still ahead of him.
Oh, and Frank Wildhorn should NOT be allowed anywhere NEAR Broadway, ever-ever-ever-ever-ever-ever again. Ever.

Jerry Herman
Schmidt & Jones (The Fantasticks duo)
Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick are both still alive and kicking and should be doing another show. I had such hopes when they wrote that new song for the revival of "Fiddler".
