I thought that one was this one. I love this movie from beginning to end, but the finale sequence kills me every time.
Cynical, searing showmanship, an obsession with flesh, darkness, and sex, and a superbly sharp understanding of body language, particularly superficial or cartoonishly amplified to the point of menace. His characters act as characters, beings existing only when seen, drawing on all of our own desires to be in the spotlight. Fosse seemed to suggest that a Fosse character no more exists offstage than the audience exists at any time we aren't showing ourselves off.
I think I'm more a fan of his early musical comedy work, before his choreography turned quite so dark, cynical and in some cases, openly contemptuous of its audience (like most of Pippin).
