First off, I am well aware that the lotto for Wicked has a history of always being crowded etc. Even if the world is coming to an end there can be one sure thing. And, that thing is that the lotto for Wicked will go on and will be full of people.
That being said, given the fact that it is January and the tourists are gone and that there is supposed to be a few inches of snow tomorrow. Do you think that it would be a stupid idea for me to try the lotto. Or, like most times do you think it would be a waste of time?
There's a fine fine line between winning Wicked lotto, and a waste of timeee...
But honestly, I don't think your chances are any better. The slowest weeks for Broadway have begun, but it will be a while before we see Wicked go down significantly in numbers. Less crowded, maybe, but still pretty crowded, with slim chances.

I won the lotto when there was 75 people there and when there was about 400 people there. So your odds are about the same no matter what. :)

Lol well obviously, mathematically speaking, your odds aren't always the same...the fewer the people the better the chance...but the bottom line is someone has to win and it just might be you ; )
"So your odds are about the same no matter what."
Well, actually, no...your odds are contingent upon how many people show up. 1 out of 75 vs 1 out of 400 are different.

Well...
A) There were still a hell of a lot of people wandering through Times Square last night looking amazed at everything and trying to block the entire sidewalk for pictures ~ so the tourists are NOT totally gone yet.
B) I have yet to see weather affect the lottery that badly. A lot of people have the same thought ~ "Oh, the weather is/is supposed to be crappy! NO ONE will show up." And you end up with a jam-packed lottery.
and C) There are now only four shows (Shrek, Avenue Q, In The Heights, and Wicked) doing a lottery (Yes, I know Shrek's is at another time), they are ALL bound to be busier.
Still, it never hurts to try. As others have pointed out, someone has to win. It really just depends on what you want to do.
If you have a back up plan then it's not a waste of time. Try the lotto and if you lose go see another **coughbettercough** show.
There was at least a 100 people there last night.

Your odds are the odds of coolkid and celery going away, which unfortuanntly aren't very good.
I say go for it! Good luck!
Never know until you try
Won the Broadway lottery my first time trying only two months ago. It's a total crap shoot. Best if luck!
Why not? You try and you may win and you may not.
Just have a backup plan.

You should invite coolkid with you and then sell the tickets if you win.

Umm... no?

Or bryan finally giving up on his asking for cast recordings of flops.
I don't really care, and would rather you posted this on the board in your head so that no one else has to read it.
Your odds are increasing by asking others what the odds are!
your odds are 1 out of however many people end up participating.
