From Sunday in the Park with George:

"It's not so much do what you like as it is that you like what you do."

Words to live by.

More from SUNDAY:

I chose, and my world was shaken--so what?
The choice may have been mistaken, the choosing was not.
You have to move on.

Halfway through the woods.
Never let it grieve you,
No one leaves for good."

Pretty much anything from Into the Woods.

"You can't stop my happiness 'cause I LIKE the way I am.
And you just can't stop my knife and fork when I see, a Christmas ham.
So if you don't like the way I look well, I just don't give a damn...!" -Edna, 'You Can't Stop the Beat' - HAIRSPRAY.

Love all of the suggestions so far!

Also:

Oh, it's time to start livin'
Time to take a little from this world we're given
Time to take time, cause spring will turn to fall
In just no time at all....

Henry in next to normal:

Sometimes life isn't sane
But crazy I know I can do
Cause crazy is perfect
And ****ed up is perfect
So I will be perfect

just substitute a less colorful word for ****ed :)

From "Everybody Says Don't" - Anyone Can Whistle:

"Everybody says don't,
Everybody says can't,
Everybody says wait around for miracles,
That's the way the world is made!
I insist on
Miracles, if YOU do them,
Miracles - nothing to them!
I say don't,
Don't be afraid!"

Nothing lasts,
Life goes on,
Full of surprises.
You'll be faced with problems of all shapes and sizes.
You're going to have to make a few compromises...
For now

Don't stress,
Relax,
Let life roll off your backs
Except for death and paying taxes,
Everything in life is only for now!
----Avenue Q "For Now"

It's time now to sing out,
the story never ends let's celebrate remember a year in the life of friends.
---Rent "Seasons of Love"

and all shall know the wonder
of purple summer...

Boobs and butt won't get you jobs, unless they're yours.

Oops, scratch that. I see you said it has to be relevant for all ages. Senior citizens wouldn't need this wisdom.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Possibly on the inappropriate side, but

"Start by admitting from cradle to tomb isn't that long a stay."
-Cabaret

That song (the title song of the musical), if taken out of context, has some good messages.

I think this one from Assassins ought to be taken out of context:

"Everybody's
Got the right
To be happy.
Don't stay mad,
Life's not as bad
As it seems.
If you keep your
Goal in sight,
You can climb to
Any height.
Everybody's
Got the right
To their dreams..."
