"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

A Chorus Line: I loved it up until that guys huge monologue and then I wanted to sleep. I would like it better if I could watch it up till then, fast forward, and then continue watching.

Any one remember An Almost Unholy Picture with Kevin Bacon at the American Airlines Theater. It was absolutely horrible. It made no sense and it was all done on a darkened stage.

CATS makes me want to vomit. Maybe a few songs are "catchy" but the show as a whole is so f***in boring. I don't understand how it lasted so long.

"It means nothing to come and sit in a theater night after night and immerse yourself in fantasy, only then to walk out the door and be unchanged in reality. This show will live on in our hearts. But where it truly must survive is in our actions, our compassion and our generousity of spirit towards one another." - Adam Pascal on the closing of RENT
