Promises, Promises 2010 Broadway revival - no doubt deserved its Tony nomination for choreography.
Victor/Victoria via YouTube.
I was also really enjoying On The Town on YouTube yet it disappeared.
Parts of Company (1995 Broadway revival) are also on YouTube. Really enjoyed this montage!!

I've gone into a bit of a lull as far as musicals, but I've been making an exception lately for Great Comet. Listening to it again brings back some terrific memories of seeing the show, picturing it all in the mind's eye.
I only saw the musical once, on Broadway, and marveled at it then. (It was certainly my favorite of the strong 2016-17 season, which puts me in the minority.) But I hadn't listened to it for a while, and my wife - who liked the show at the time but didn't it enjoy it quite as much as I did - was reminded of how clever and well-constructed the songs are. It's amusing to me that one of her favorites is the divisive "The Private and Intimate Life of the House," which I recall debating the merits of another poster here after I saw it. (By contrast, she is not a fan of "Sonya Alone," though she does love the gorgeous "No One Else."![]()
Even the songs that drag a bit in the cast recording - The Opera, The Duel - were impressive spectacles at the show. Mostly, it was nice to remind myself of a piece of theater I saw not too long ago that I really loved.

In times of trouble, I seem to gravitate towards the Titanic: A New Musical OBC recording. Besides the stunning "before they were stars" cast, the music hits me in a way that I end up singing the whole show to myself sans accompaniment.
No Moon is usually the song that pops into my head. I love the way it transitions into Autumn. Of course The Proposal / The Night Was Alive is beautiful. As far as lyrics go, "I will be a proper person... people will look up to me" from Lady's Maid is another earworm that seems to rear its head every few months.
Come to think of it.. I believe this musical deserves it's own 2020 thread. Yea.. gonna do that now. ; )

I've been listening to "No Strings", a show ahead of it's time and certainly apt for today. Also, the off broadway revival of "Best Foot Forward" with Liza Minnelli. They really pulled that one off well.
