Posted: 8/20/04 at 9:35pmTori Spelling is NOT a bad actress. She was a bit rough during the first season of 90210, but after that she was more than fine. On that short-lived WB series The Help, she was extremely funny. I think it's just in fashion to bash her, along with the Olsens and even Brooke Shields, who may not be a great musical theater star, but she's not a bad comedic actress.

Posted: 8/20/04 at 9:45pmYes, Rath, Tori has her moments. Ever see her in that film with Parker Poesy where PP plays "Jackie Oh" -- what is that damned thing, it was a play. Anyway, Tori is actually even memorable in it. She may be awaiting her Sally Fields event -- a Norma Rae -- to move her forward.

hon, it may be in fashion to knock Tori, but you lost all respect from me by even considering her a passable actress. She played her role in Trick well - the role of a girl who CANNOT ACT! I'm sorry, she was not ever ever passable in anything she did. For god's sake, she was in a tv movie called "Mother May I Sleep with Danger." Sorry, I think you are crazy. She can't act. No way. No how. Now be gone, before someone drops a house on you too.

Posted: 8/20/04 at 9:52pmYeah she's done some crappy tv movies, but who hasn't? Pay attention to her good work, like was mentioned here, Jackie Oh, she was quite good in that. She's not a GREAT actress, so she won't be able to overcome crappy writing and directing, but with good material, she does quite well.

I did say that someone else said she looked like Eva...forgot who, but I heard somewhere...so I was bringing up the point that JLT would possibly make a great Eva.

I think Julia Murney could definitely do it. Absolutely.
If they needed a celeb, Jessica Simpson could do it and kick ass ~ vocally anyway.
