I first saw the title and was ready to write "OMG IDINA MENZEL!"
Oh boy.
Hah...how did I guess Idina would be on your list....and Kerry Butler...don't get me wrong I am head over heals in love with this girl, but this is not a role for her.
Akiva
Haha me too Guen!! I was going to write Idina and Eden...who knew???
Lauren Kennedy
Sherie Rene Scott as Eva Peron? Are you SERIOUS?? Espinosa I can see....Idina Menzel, I could definitely see....but SR Scott?
Brooke Shields
1. I am not, nor have a ever been on crack. Crack is for poor people. (Whitney Houston)
2. Idina would be awesome in this role! Yes, her voice is kind of pop-sounding, but the score could deal with being popped up a bit.
3. I also failed to mention I think Heather Headley could make this role interesting, too.
4. Sherie would be perfectly fine with me. I don't know if she has the classical chops for the acting stuff, though. I'mn sure she could bring some naturalism to the part that Patti never had, though.
5. Am I the only one in love with Stephanie Block as an actor/singer?
I like Stephanie Block, but she's not great.
what's not great about her? Give me analysis. =)
Lauren Kennedy

This is the real Eva Peron. Not very Idina like if you ask me.
Kerry Butler, no, Heather Headley, no. They could make it interesting, but range comes first. Then the acting. This is Andrew Llyod Webber for Pete's Sake. It's not about whether they can make it "interesting" it's about whether they can hit those freakishly high notes. And besides, Eva plays a bitch for all of Act 1 and half of Act 2. Any actress on broadway can do that.
Whitney Houston is very wealthy. Or, are you one of those "money doesn't buy happiness" people? lol
Kerry Butler is a terrible idea for this role. Almost as bad as the person on the ALW board who said Kristen Chenoweth was perfect for Eva.
Madonna is a good choice.

Harvey Fierstein.
Joel Grey.
Joey Fatone.
Scary Spice.
For Crissake, has this SAME thread not been brought up a hundred times already? Type in search. And most of the people listed here are very crack-induced ideas, indeed.
I think the only redeeming quality SR Scott might have is the look of Eva Peron, but as for necessary chops to play a role as demanding as Eva, I think not.
I'd pay to see Matt_G as Evita...
I nominate Tori Spelling
everywhere I go somebody sayd "you look like Tori Spelling" or "you look like Tara Reed"!
I'm a bit insulted

there's a great line from a song --
I wish I could be like Tori Spelling - with a Dad like hers and a car like hers...
no one would want to look like her, and lord knows the girl ain't long on talent, but life wouldn't be so bad being her...

I think Stephanie J. Block can do full justice to the role!

shermanslave: Agreed. Harvey Fierstein.
Didn't someone say that pic of Jenn Laura Thompson during the beginning of Act 2 in Wicked look like Eva?
