What's Next for Christy Altomare?

She was absolutely lovely in Anastasia: in terms of her vocals and acting. I'd love to see her on stage again but cannot see current shoes on Broadway that fit her - perhaps Dawn in Waitress?

She'd be adorable as Dawn.

Realistically speaking, I'm sure she's taking a break for a little bit. She did that show for over two years straight, plus it's original OOT-tryout. Still fun to speculate though!

Broadway Princess Party has said on Instagram that she's joining some shows on the road later this year.

I would not be surprised to see her pop up on the Anastasia tour at some point for a short run. On Broadway, I could see her as Anna in Frozen or Jasmine in Aladdin. I was also wondering about Carole King in Beautiful  but not sure if that's the right fit. Or maybe something new that hasn't been announced yet.

Am I remembering correctly that there were heavy rumors (on here) that she was going to play Anna in the cold show, but then the original leads extended their contracts?

I legitimately can't decide which suggestion is more absurd.... Altomare taking over for Jenn Colella in Come From Away or taking over for Jasmine in Aladdin...

That was a very stranger rumor. She was never going to play Anna and I don’t know how that got started!

 

i do hope she takes a proper vacation (which I’m told is coming next month), plans her wedding and slowly eases into auditioning and performing again. That woman put her heart and soul into a production for almost 3 years-she deserves a true relaxation period before jumping into work again (although I know she has already performed a song from Anastasia already even after the closing).

I agree with everything you've said but she's been very open about the fact that she's actively auditioning and will continue to do so

im so happy she’s auditioning!! She should be, the world deserves to see her in more :) I’m just excited for her to get the rest she deserves.

In the short-term, she will be taking a long vacation with her fiancé, and working on a CD. In the long-term, she is auditioning for stuff and waiting to see what comes from that.
