"Shine" - Here We Are
Funny enough, Sondheim's lyrics always gave us both.

A lot of these choices are great but for me two songs stood out the most are unfortunately song revivals and jukebox songs. But Jordan did say favorite song from the 23-24 Season so I guess we can consider them like “covers” in recorded music.
The best song from a revival that stood out for me that I didn’t even notice or even like before was “Growing Up” from Merrily We Roll Along. I guess Jonathan Groff’s beautiful voice and emotional interpretation hit me the most. The cast album have been on repeat since it was released.
Secondly my favorite song came from a jukebox musical (and I use jukebox musical loosely) is “The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades is Out to Get Us!” From Illinoise. Such a beautiful and haunting song. One of the many moments in Illinoise that made me ugly cry in the theatre. Ricky Ubeda’s performance and movements will forever be etched in my memories. I can’t wait to hear again the sublime voices of ElijahLyons, Shara Nova and Tasha VanLear on the cast album!

If we are not counting ALL the songs from Here Lies Love, I'd go with "Roaring On" from Great Gatsby. Love a great opener, and there have been very, very (to a nonexistant) few this season (actually over the last couple).
