What's next for Kelli O'Hara?!?

It's been almost a year since Kelli left LCT's K&I, and I'm aware that she's starred in concerts at Carnegie Hall, and has an upcoming one at LCT in May, and a few other short one-two night engagements- Carousel on PBS, but wondering what might be on her future radar... I've heard rumors discussed about starring in a Bartlet Sher helmed My Fair Lady @ LCT following Oslo, and also that she was in talks for Marian in a Music Man Revival... Personally, I fear she may be getting too old for these roles I'm about to suggest, but I'd have killed to see her in LCT revivals of Carousel, Sound of Music, Oklahoma, or possibly State Fair...I also think she could be perfect in a Secret Garden Revival... at any rate, I hope Kelli returns to the Broadway stage ASAP!

She's playing a small role in Cosi Fan Tutte at the Met Opera next season.

Despina is anything but a small role in Cosi fan tutte.

She has a whole bunch of concert dates coming up this year in the NYC area that I know of.

If you want to see Kelli in something very personal and special, on May 7 she is appearing with her father-in-law James Naughton, and the Naughton family in a tribute to Pamela Naughton, who died of pancreatic cancer.

The event is being held in Westport, CT. I don't think tickets are on sale yet, but when they are it will sell out fast.

I'll be seeing Kelli this Wednesday in Westport in Letters to Our Daughters, an evening of essays and poems written and read by women in honor of International Women's Day. This event is sold out.

I don't suppose there is going to be any King and I in London. They had a website and I saw an open dance call for those with Asiatic features. But apparently when the ownership of the theater chain on which the production would have staged changed, they dropped the project.

Thanks, Sally, your typo gave me a giggle!

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I just meant that she isn't one of the leads. Calm down.

One of my Kelli highlights last year besides her Carnegie Hall debut was to see her in MasterVoices' Dido and Aeneas under the direction of Ted Sperling.

I am looking forward to seeing her in MasterVoices Babes in Toyland at Carnegie Hall on April 27th.

Concerts, galas, charities, her first serious Met Opera role. Maybe even more television since it appears that even a moderate role in a TV series gets you known to 90% more of the public than just being a Broadway star. In two weeks, she's going to a one night stand with best buddy Mathew Morrison in Tokyo, I believe in a performance coordinated with the Tony awards.

On May 1st, at Carnegie Hall, Kelli and Bartlett Sher will be the honorees at the New York Pops gala. Like those two really need more recognition. Guest so far are like a who's who of South Pacific and The King and I cast. Paulo Szot, Danny Burstein, Ruthie Ann Miles, Laura Osnes and Jason Robert Brown (the outlier among guests). Tickets on sale at the box office, and I guess the web site, tomorrow morning, March 6th..

She'll be in "Babes in Toyland" tonight at Carnegie Hall! The rest of the cast is fabulous, too.

7pm. Tickets are still available!

(I'm a member of MasterVoices and can share that the rehearsals have been such fun!! Sadly, due to a few schedule issues, I'm not singing this concert, but I'll be in the audiience. It's going to be a wonderful night!)

Had to bump this to say congrats and thank you to all involved in tonight's concert at Carnegie Hall! The whole evening was wonderful from the leads, to the staging, to the orchestra, and the amazing choir! Christopher Fitzgerald far and away walked away with the evening and reminded me why he brings down the house every night at Waitress. I will talk about this for a while I'm sure. I only wish it was feasible to have all the elements of tonight turned into a full production.

Bravo MasterVoices! And shout out to the woman in orange who was a widow at the show's conclusion. You stole my heart!

MasterVoices just posted a wonderful album of photos from last night on Facebook.

"Like" them on FB for a chance to catch a glimpse of some of the fun that was had in Carnegie!

ETA: Looks like BWW posted the same photos, including some from the reception following the performance.

What's next for Kelli O'Hara?!?

In this PBS interview published about two months ago, I think Kelli O'Hara gives her most sincere view of what she wants to do in the future, and the possibility of Eliza Doolittle is thrown right in her face.

Pick it up at about 24:50, or listen to the whole interview.
