Oh this is hard, it's between Xanadu or Sunday in the park but they are so different. Xanadu for the pure fun but I can't stop thinking of SUnday even though I saw it 2 weeks ago now
I believe SUNDAY is the best show on Broadway, but I'm also gonna have to say PASSING STRANGE, because it was just such an amazing theatrical experience, and I always am thinking about how great it is.

I know not many people will agree but I say Avenue Q.
That is unless, you are speaking about this season in which I don't really have an opinion about.
"Sunday in the Park with George" is stunning in a variety of ways and so much more rewarding than, say, "Wicked" or "RENT."
If you want to see a stellar PERFORMANCE, go to see Lupone in "Gypsy," but to be honest, you'd be blown away by the performances in "Sunday..." as well!
Curtains!
sunday in the park. no doubt.
Curtains- for a good old fashion musical
August- For some real drama
Sunday- For a unique theatre experience
In the Heights- For something fun, new and fresh!
AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY is the best play I ever seen. Amazing Acting!
Passing Strange is the newest and hippest thing you will ever see.
a million theatre snobs are going to attack me for this but...
Wicked is a phenomenal show, give it a try :)
I'm reallly sorry oohshizz, but I'm afraid I'm gonna have to be one of those theatre snobs and say, REALLY??????
Yeah. I like a bunch of the shows you and everyone else here thinks is "acceptable", but I also love Wicked. I think its fun and has a cute message and (almost. cant say much for the OBC) always has a talanted cast. And the set and costumes are gorgeous. Go ahead guys, lemme have it!
I'll have to agree with most everyone else.
August: Osage County. And Sunday in the Park with George.
They're both positively electric.
The one show playing on Broadway right now which will achieve legendary status in years to come is "SUNDAY". The stage production of August: Osage Country will all but be forgotten once it get turned into a major motion picture with an all-star cast.
Sunday and August :)

Thank you all for your heartfelt opinions.
Sounds like my next show is August.
My next show is August too.
Best shows on B'way=WiCked and ReNt!!!!!
Nahhh...
I'd say, in my own opinion, Lion King, is not the best show, but it's really good, and definitely worth seeing.
I haven't even seen them live yet, just in other ways, but I'm going to have to go with Gypsy, Sunday, and In the Heights.
Honestly, if I love them that much and haven't even seen them live, then I think that says a lot. Maybe it doesn't, maybe it just sounds/looks really good to me in the ways I have seen them and won't be as good live, but I highly doubt that.
And why waste money on Wicked when it has twenty different companies where you can see it, while some of these shows you can only see in New York.
This thread is about people's favorite show, not what the best show on Broadway is, anyway. Doubt that everyone who posted here has seen every single Broadway show right now to have that kind of opinion.
blaxx, I think that only applies to the people who said something other than AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY
I'll give you that, even if I haven't seen it, I trust it is probably the best.
Spring Awakening.......duh.
