My favorite musical is The Phantom of the Opera. I love the music and the story. It was the first West End musical i saw and since then I've been to London twice a year for seeing other musicals.

This is the hardest question and I don't think I can pick just one.
Sunday in the Park with George, Into the Woods, Chicago, Gypsy, Anything Goes.

Depending on the day, I go back and forth between A Chorus Line and Les Miserables.

I love how the OP states, "when I was young" as if he's so old now. Let me guess, your 18 now if that much??? I think you mean when you were a child. And your taste in musicals totally dictates your age.

Im 18. But I don't think age dictates taste for me. I have always been fascinated with wicked and rent but i would always watch The into the woods dvd and cabaret and more adult themed shows when i was younger.

I have to disagree that your age dictates your taste in musicals, I'm 17 and I'm not obsessed with Rent, Spring Awakening or any of those "hip" shows. I much rather see MFL or Carousel over Next to Normal or Bare.

LES MIS-for sure!
My biggest pet peeve right now is when people pronounce it "Marry-us" and not "Mah-ree-us".

Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, Assassins, Gypsy, Hair and the list goes on.
For the last few weeks, I have been listening to "Bonnie & Clyde" and the demo recording to "Edges" more than others.
