I love the phantom of the opera.
However The soundtrack is quite repetitive.
Le's Miserables has the best soundtrack i have ever heard on any musical.

FRANK LOESSER'S "The Most Happy Fella", a rich melodic score with enough great songs to populate 10 typical musical plays.
Phantom6, just a heads-up, I think you mean 'score' rather than 'soundtrack.' I know what you mean, but a lot of members get a bit snippy about words being used incorrectly.
My favorite musical is Spamalot, but my favorite score is Les Miserables.

Oh my! This is such a difficult question. By when do you need an answer?
Les Miserables has a soundtrack? I didn't know a film version existed of the hit stage musical. Well, I'll be...

to answer your question, Phantom6, at the moment my favorite is Light in the Piazza. I love the score, I love the story & I loooove Victoria Clark. I'm also a big Wedding Singer fan.
and I agree with Schmerg. watch your terminology - BWW posters can be pretty snippy.
West Side Story is my all time favorite.
Jekyll and Hyde I think is very awesome in a dark romantic way.

Sweeney Todd.
Well, for you Schmerg, my favorite musical would be too tough to pick just one, but I think my favorite musical theatre score of all time is Kiss Me, Kate.

Miss Saigon. I know it's not the best musical, but it is and ever shall be my favorite.
Aww, well, thank you!
I like Kiss Me Kate, but the song "Too Darn Hot" has been ruined for me for a few reasons that I'm sure most posters here will understand.

It's the same reason I can't listen to "The Boy Friend" anymore. "Won't You Charleston with Me?" makes me want to vomit.
yeah...I was always a fan of the Charleston until...well.
"Gypsy" and "Sunday in the Park With George"
although I have been listening to a lot of "Into the Woods" and "Nine" lately.
