Catch Me If You Can (Sunday)
How to Succeed (Tuesday)
Mary Poppins (Wednesday)
Sister Act (Thursday)
Spiderman (Friday)
I'm planning on going to New York in mid-August, but I like to plan ahead. So, I was just wondering what time I should arrive at the theater to Rush for these shows.
Yes, I used search and I couldn't find much other than Catch Me.
Thanks!
Get there EARLY for How to Succeed. I would say by 9AM at the latest. You should be fine whenever you get there for Spiderman.
I just got back from my own trip, here was my experience:
Sister Act - I saw this Wednesday matinee. Got in line about 9:15 and was pretty far back in line. No evening seats were left, I got the last pair for matinee. There was a single rush seat left after me and I think I was lucky. Had I known I would've gotten there earlier.
Catch Me If You Can - I saw this on Wednesday evening. Got a student rush ticket no problem about an hour before the show.
How to Succeed - I saw this Saturday matinee. I got to the box office about 10:15 or so after failing to get Anything Goes tickets. There was a HUGE line and I was sure there wouldn't be anything left but there was. Partial view, towards the front of the orchestra on the very side.
I didn't see the other shows you asked about. Hope that helps!
I rushed How to Succeed for a Wednesday matinee and got on the line around 9:15 and I was all the way backed up to the comedy club, so get there EARLY.
I was walking my dog last week around 8am and there were maybe already 100 people in the H2$ line.

Anyone have an idea how Sister Act rush has been on Sundays? I'm thinking about trying it this Sunday matinee.

Just kidding, I just saw that there's no performance this Sunday.
I am trying for Spider-man tomorrow, but I have a question... There are only a few seats open for the evening performance... Do they only give those out for rush, or are there other tickets they discount?
The tickets Spiderman holds for rush usually do not appear on ticketmaster.
I'm not sure if things have changed with Spidey 2.0, but in March I tried to rush on a two show day, and I got there at nine and was about 30 people back in line, and didn't get a ticket. So get there early, it's general rush so plenty of out of town tourists.

So, after watching the Tony Awards last night I've decided to change up my schedule a bit. I'm going to see Catch Me if you Can, Mamma Mia (never seen it), Anything Goes, How to Succeed, War Horse and Spiderman, and I was planning on rushing all of them. I'm planning to arrive at each theater at around 7, to ensure that I get seats. Do you think that I'll be good?
Also, how has the Jerusalem rush been? I've been wanting to try and get seats a few hours before the show starts. Is that possible?
This was discussed I think in another thread, but I don't think War Horse has been open for rush at all, since its been sold out totally.
I was at Jerusalem rush at 9:40 last Friday and got the last ticket, so I wouldn't count on being able to stroll up later in the day at get them. But they were selling the $36 tickets right up until doors opened.
Katurian2, you're right, it was discussed in another thread.
For War Horse, sign up for LincTix, the Lincoln Center Theater cheap youth ticket program. You can buy your ticket in advance and it's $30 I think. The only downside is that you can only buy 1 discounted LincTix ticket (unlike Roundabout's HipTix or MTC's 30 Under 30 programs, where you can buy a pair for you and a companion theatergoer).
I got mine for War Horse and (the now closed) A Minister's Wife practically the day the program was announced. My ticket for A Minister's Wife in the Newhouse Theater was excellent (center-left section row F near the more outside aisle) but I think almost any ticket would be great in that theater. My ticket for War Horse is the front row of loge, inside aisle of the 500s. The Beaumont is such a nice theater that I'm almost positive that any ticket is great (I've seen other productions from all around the theater and loved each seat.)

broadway_show_fan, I signed up for Linctix, but I'm a bit out of the age range, i.e. 19. Do they check ID's?
