Are you kidding?
I don't want to skip a thing. Even if I'm not that interested in a particular show, I still want to see what they have to offer.
There isn't show this season that I absolutely hate soooo nothing.
A true broadway afficionado NEVER skips any performances at the TONYS. That's like the Superbowl for us!
Its definitely a No-No, honey!

I doubt I'll skip anything either. I hate missing parts of any show for some reason. I'll admit, I hate it when someone else has the tv remote, and starts flipping the channel during commercials. Usually they end up staying on something for 5 minutes before changing back, and making us miss a minute or 2 of what we originally were watching.
With the exception of Grease and Little Mermaid, I actually think this year was an extremely good year for Broadway, so I won't be missing anything tonight - though I will be watching on delay, because I have Father's Day first.
I won't change the channel, but I'll probably take a few well-timed bathroom breaks. Particularly Passing Strange because I've seen it once and really don't feel the need to again. Ditto Cry-Baby.
I'm also really not interested in the older shows performing because they've had their chance to shine before. But I'll probably watch those. Rent's may be another bathroom break.
I wont skip any performances. I'll probably mute most of the acceptance speeches though.

Will skip that God awful LION KING
i'm not skipping a THING
even if i absolutely hated a show i would watch it
gotta soak in every bit of broadway!!!
There will be performances that I will hate and but I love watching it because it's good entertainment, seeing a awful show like Cry Baby or Little Mermaid or Grease perform. And If I skip I will miss out on something and then when I come on here to hear people complain about it I won't know what people are taking about.
Heck, I'm not even watching the Tony Awards until sometime later this week. I have no intention of wasting my precious evening sitting thru that borefest mess. I Tivo it, then watch it later in the week when I'm in the mood for it.
Yes, I'll read about the winners and hopefully something juicy will take place during the telecast that I'll have something extra to look forward to.
This has been my tradition for several years now and its the best way to watch them. Fast-forward the damn commercials (thank God no VIVA LAUGHLIN spots this year!), and watch the show uninterrupted. Then I burn it (commercial-free) on to DVD and keep it in my archives for future reference.
NOTE: I do this with ALL awards shows, though I only make DVDs of the Oscars and the Tonys.
I'm not going to skip any of it! I may change my mind a little - I needed an extended bathroom break last year so went when Fantasia was performing - but as things currently stand, I fully intend to watch the lot. I don't get to Broadway very often, so I take what I can get.
If you're muting acceptance speeches, then make sure you don't mute should Mark Rylance win. Hopefully he will win, and hopefully he'll have to something to beat his Drama Desk acceptance speech. XD
I might have to miss a few of the performances in the beginning against my will, but I'm trying not to miss any of them.
I just had to ditto this statement:
(thank God no VIVA LAUGHLIN spots this year!)
And I don't know that I'll be skipping any of the performances... but Grease is the one I'll be looking forward to the least.

I think Little Mermaid is a spectacular show, I'm most excited for that performance. Why on earth wouldn't you like it?

Mmm, because it sucks.
Most likely nothing unless Taylor Hicks comes on.
Oh dear, it's back.
I don't think I'll skip anything (I am also going to be seeing it later). Even though I doubt Lion King, Mermaid, or Rent will be worth anything in terms of quality entertainment, I will need to know what I'm making fun of.
I hate skipping performances because you never know what you'll get. I've heard terrible things about Cry Baby but I want to see for myself what they bring to the stage.

I'll repeat what's been said, basically. This is each show's chance to show the world what goes on at their theater each night. Don't blow that off!
I won't be missing a thing. This is my night of Broadway, why would I skip anything?
I liked that football analogy. Can you imagine a true fan of football saying, "I'm not watching the super bowl this year, because I really don't like one of the teams"? How can anyone who pretends to love Broadway, turn off the TV because they don't appreciate or like one of the shows or one of the performers. Gee, if nothing else, dishing the bad is a lot of fun!
Im not skipping any of them. All the performances are going to be great tonight. I am really excited to see Rent perform one more time.
Who said a bathroom break would really be skipping anything? I'm in a small NYC apartment. I can still HEAR everything going on when I'm not in my bedroom. My ears might hear, but my eyes don't have to watch.
