He's a faker, and you've been taken in by his con. And in doing so, you are enabling him. He is doing more damage to aspergers than papa's words ever could. -Chane/Liverpool on me having asperger syndrome.
"In theater, the process of it is the experience. Everyone goes through the process, and everyone has the experience together. It doesn't last - only in people's memories and in their hearts. That's the beauty and sadness of it. But that's life - beauty and the sadness. And that is why theater is life." - Sherie Rene Scott
My fair lady, on casette. w/ Julie Andrews I had casettes of the sound of music and grease but I'm pretty sure those were from the movies, not the broadway shows.

...First Broadway Cast Recording was scarily enough the Into the Woods Revival.
The first "soundtrack" from a "show" was the movie version of ANNIE that my mom had on LP. However, the first cast recording that I bought with my "lemonade stand money" was the 90s Revival of Show Boat. I got hooked.

Then, I've bought back through the repertoire to learn shows and roles. Earliest is Pal Joey.
Somehow, disks & tapes of movies of Broadway shows don't seem to count, no matter how good some turn out. I like only the Original Cast recordings. It's just a thing.
