Posted: 3/21/08 at 1:21pmThat was all mine (my mom had several on vinyl that I loved to death when I was little ~ everyone else my age was singing Sesame Street I was singing The Sound of Music, Camelot and so forth.), it's Annie (the OBCR). My parents gave it to me when I was...8? I can't remember, but it was a Christmas present.

When I was 8 or 9 and was getting into seeing shows (having just moved from Illinois to London) my grandmother got me the OBC's to Follies, Sweeney Todd and Sunday In The Park With George.
The first one I bought on my own was the City Of Angels OBC.

Annie.
I also remember taking the bus to our downtown area to buy the cast recording of, "On the 20th Century".
First ones checked out of the library: Oklahoma and Gypsy with Ethel Merman. I think I was 7 at the time, but still remember always going to the cast recording section in our local library.

I was literally listening to the Phantom of the Opera obc since I was born (my mom loved the music)
Then I got my own cassette and was deliriously happy.
And then I decided to be obsessed with Jesus Christ Superstar which I listened to every night before I went to sleep.

Posted: 3/21/08 at 5:06pmWell I'd been given about 10 or so cast recordings, and had bought one. However, it wasn't until I really got into musicals that I purchased Mame, Dear World, and Mack and Mabel together.
