Now that we know the noms for best musical/revival of a musical, does anyone want to make any predictions for the songs that will be performed?
I just asked this question on another thread, but it seems more appropriate here! When do they announce what each show will perform?
I would say ( or hope)from DRS either All About Ruprecht or his first big # whose name escapes me now (senior moment)
From Spamalot. The Song That Goes Like This
"From Spamalot. The Song That Goes Like This"
"The Song That Goes Like This" is fabulous, but I can't see them choosing a number to perform on a national telecast that does not use any of the three well-known leads, particularly since two of them are Tony nominees themselves. I would think "Find Your Grail" or "Knights of the Round Table" would be more likely.
I'm having a hard time seeing DRS use "All About Ruprecht", as hysterical as it is...too many delicate sensibilities out in TV land, and lord knows everyone has a constitutional right to not be subjected to things they may find offensive (yes, that was sarcasm). Maybe they could tweak the lyrics to "Dirty Rotten Number" and do that one.
Please let Christin do If They Could See Me Now..... becasue i don't really like I'm A Brass Band anymore....5 to 1 says it will be Brass Band.....
I want to see We Are What We Are from La Cage
"great big stuff" is nobert's first big number, i hope they do that.
Sweet Charity will most likely do "I'm a Brass Band." A little of If My Friends.. than bring the ensemble out, and go right into Brass Band - would be really cute. Something like that.
You know what would be FANTASTIC? If Sutton could perform a number from Little Women.
Ah...I can dream...
LA CAGE will probably perform "La Cage Aux Folles"
Thankfully, nothing from BKLYN.
Amen.
I hope the opening is as cool as last years "One Night Only." I'm sure we'll find out more very soon.
I'm guessing Spam will probably do "Knights of the Round Table" because that's a Python standard revamped
What about Bee and Piazza?
I really wish more shows would do medleys of their songs so they could showcase more.

Amen, BroadwayGirl, amen. Is there any possible way they might bend the rules? or at least give her a solo in the opening, or SOMETHING. I WANT TO SEE SUTTON PERFORM.
*goes and pouts in a corner until someone tells me that she will perform something*
I'd LOVE to see "Great Big Stuff" be DRS'!

I think(or rather hope) for Piazza, Victoria Clark might sing "Fable". My only reasoning is that it reminds me of last year with Tonya Pinkins and she sang her 11 o'clock number......
They might do Fable, or maybe The Light in the Piazza. It would really be served the best by a medley, though.
Spelling Bee might do the title song, Magic Foot, or Life is Pandemonium.
NO! I want Kelli O'Hara and Matt Morrison to be able to sing. They were much better in the show than Clark was.

Only three revivals are nominated, so hopefully the performances can be a tad longer this year.
Well, some people might disagree. :)
Well some people ain't me.
I was hoping for Brooklyn "Once Upon a Time" - but that will not happen. I was also looking foward to a "Burnin Love" from All Shook Up.
But I think and hope we will get some "Big Spender" action from Sweet Charity!
I'm thinking they'll do I'm a Brass Band from Sweet Charity.
I'm also guessing Great Big Stuff from DRS and Find Your Grail from Spamalot.

Any bets that Pac Overtures will just have a video of BD Wong waving goodbye to the Tony celebration? I'd be so surprised if anything from that show performed.
