When will Christina be out of Sweet Charity?

Not sure.
Too bad Charlotte wont be able to replace Christina in January. Weissler's will definitely bring another star in.
Anyway - you can't go wrong with this Cy Coleman score/show - no matter who is playing the title role. and Coleman was loving what he saw of Christina in early rehearsals.. but sadly..he didn't see a final product.

Oh, it's more that I have absolutely no desire to see the production. The score I can hear sung by Gwen Verdon.
I'd only go to see Charlotte.
Perhaps I will return to Chicago, but still...

That's nice. But with 6/7 recordings of this show I have, the score is never less than stellar.
Anyway - I am glad Charlotte still keeps fresh with Roxie - considering she has been in and out of the role on Broadway and tour since 1997!
I'm sure Christina will have a upcoming vacation soon. She hasn't had one yet. During the Fall would be great - because Charlotte will be out of CHICAGO, and the Weissler's wont have to go through the hassle of making sure they have an understudy on for Roxie.. etc etc.

How is Charlotte doing both roles? I thought I saw her in the cast list for Chicago and then saw her as an understudy in Sweet Charity...and I was like...that's odd. How does it work?
I LOVE Charlotte. I'd love to see her in Charity. I thought Christina did great with the part though. Her comedic timing was flawless.

If Christina is on in Sweet Charity, Charlotte is on in Chicago. If Christina is out, Charlotte is on as Charity, and Charlotte's understudy is on as Roxie.

Christina will NEVER be out of Sweet Charity until she leaves the show. She is THE reason people pay money for this show. You know how many people would be pissed off if they found out she wasn't going to be on the night they go?
I'd love to see Charlotte too, but people aren't paying to see her.

Christina has already missed a few performances due to illness. There was a thread about it.

I saw Charlotte on April 11th...honestly, she was better than Christina.

Is it true that they use a seperate playbill when Charlotte goes on? I ask this because she isn't listed in my playbill as standby / understudy.

I saw Charlotte on April 13. There was a separate playbill.

yes, Charlotte has a separate playbill. In Charlotte's playbill, Christina's name is no where to be found. In Christina's playbill, there is no mention of Charlotte. Don't know why the Weisslers decided to spend money on separate playbills rather than get some in color!

Curtain--
I saw Dylis Croman while Sweet Charity was here in Chicago and she was really great. I hope to see her in more starring roles soon. She's mesmerizing, especially in the DVD of Fosse.

I would be interested in Dylis and her Charity also. I also saw her as the Frug dancer. And I love her as Rosie in the second act.
And yes - Christina has missed one performance that we know of - where Charlotte when on. But she very rarely misses. Has one of the best attendance records this season. I still think the Weissler's should give her a little vacation in the Fall. Even if it's only 3 days.

I hope she's out next week! It's not like I hate Christina... but I *adore* Charlotte - and I'm seeing the show next Friday. Plus, with Christina out there will (hopefully) be less people at the stagedoor, and I will be able to better woo Denis.

That is kinda wierd about Charlotte's program.
Sounds like a perk the producers use so they don't have to pay the actor more $, and Charlotte is already collecting 2 salaries a week so she went for the seperate program thing.
Anyone ever heard if this seperate program thing before this?
Does the program have Charlotte's pic on the cover?

CURTAIN/SORRYGRATEFUL-
I'm in the same boat! I saw Dylis in Chicago and she was remarkable. As much as I love Charlotte, I would love to see Dylis have another shot at the role! She deserves it. Too bad they're going to get another "name" for the role. In my opinion Dylis made a name for herself taking over like that!

Naked-- I agree! I think I saw what must have been her first full performance as Charity. I remember telling the people around me before the show started how great Dylis was because we were all disappointed that Christina was out. I can see why the Weisslers wouldn't put her on and would get name to replace Christina, but it would be so cool of them to perhaps create a name in Dylis for the future. But money is the objective, whether that's good or bad, so it's not going to happen.
Question:
If Charlotte goes on whenever Christina is gone, is there ever any possibility that Dylis would take over the role? Would that only happen if both Charlotte and Christina were sick?

This is a tricky situation. Ocassionaly Charlotte might be sick, and is out of CHICAGO. And if Christina just happened to be sick that day also - Dylis would def. go on. But the chances of that happening are not good - but that would be very cool.
And it's not even like the Weissler's would have trouble getting a Roxie going on for Charlotte - if Christina and out, and that would cause them to put Dylis on. That wouldn't happen because Roxie has a standby and 2-3 understudies lol..
