According to its website (http://www.finiansonbroadway.com/), previews begin August 4th, but no opening date is listed.

I'm still a bit upset we have had so many revivals of Guys and Dolls and some great shows have never gotten a revival.

My guess is that it will close in October when Lauren Graham leaves. I don't think it will stay open longer than that.

Why are tickets for Guys and Dolls only available through September 27th when other shows such as The Little Mermaid have tickets all the way out until Nivember 29th? Does this indicate anything?

If you want it to close, tell everybody you know NOT to buy tickets. I know it's a bad thing to promote not to go see a show no matter how bad it is, but if you guys really want it to close tell everyone NOT to buy tickets and buy tickets to good shows like Next To Normal 9 to 5 Reasons To Be Pretty

Its been becoming more popular to only release tix a season at a time....to try to fill those seats before extending.


I wouldn't necessarily read too much into it.

Shows tend to be busier on weekends, which may account for the few empty seats in the orchestra.

I saw this show back in March and thought it was just okay. I went in having not seen any other production. I was a bit bored. I don't wish any ill will on this show, but I have a feeling it will definitely close by sometime this year.

When will people understand that just because a show sells tickets up to a certain date does not mean it is necessarily closing that day? Shows release their tickets in large blocks at a time, and may only sell up to a certain date until further notice. But it is not always an indication it will close that day.

Even though it's not making money, I can see them trying to stunt cast Adelaide (again) after Lauren Graham leaves in an attempt to keep it open through the holidays.

Now that Samantha Who has been cancelled, I think Christina Applegate would make a terrific Adelaide. She got a bum rap for Sweet Charity, and I'd like to see her try this role.

Rumor has it that the producers have sent out feelers to Loretta Swit as a possible Adelaide replacement. If so, true magic will happen on the Nederlander stage!

A lot of people liked Applegate in Charity. She was just in a mediocre production.

And joining this revival would be a terrible move for her.
