I have some rare Playbills from the 70-80s that I would like to sell on EBay (signed by Kathreen Hepburn, Lauren Becall, Danny Kaye, George Hearn, and Len Creou)
i would like to get them authenticated and appraised before posting them

The George Hearn and Danny Kaye ones might be real but I would be worried about the other ones.
Signed playbills don't really sell for that much, even by those people. The cost of having them authenticated by a reputable source might cost just as much or even more than you'd get for selling them.

I got them all from someone who claimed to get the autographs from the stage door
just want to be 100% sure they are real
People should bring headshots to the stage door, i'm sure those would sell.

Those signed by "Kathreen" Hepburn and Len "Creou" are definitely not authentic.

The only way to be sure is if you have it signed by the celeb personally. If you write a nice letter to their agent/agency and get something signed back you might be 75-90 percent sure it is legit.
Um, most of the alleged autographs came from actors now deceased. ![]()

The main autograph authentication services are PSA and JSA. Check out their websites. They make local appearances along with having a mail in program. They will charge you for each autograph and you will also not be able to sell them on Ebay without authentication.

Impossible to authenticate then. Although some in sales may claim otherwise.
I have used PSA/DNA in the past; they have a location in North Jersey and I just made an appointment to take my things to them. I was authenticating items worth thousands of dollars, and I think I spent about $200-250 total for 5 items.
You might want to price this before you go/send your items, just to make sure you have a reasonable shot at getting your money back when you sell. I forget how they determine cost, but I think it is a simple per-item charge (which made sense for my stuff, but I don't know what your playbills are realistically worth).
Good luck!
I can authenticate them for free, if you send them to my PO Box?
If you want to authenticate that something was signed by Loretta Swit, then just show the receipt, since she charges $10 (even in person at the stage door) for her "charity."
