So, an earlier post got me thinking ... which Broadway / West End Shows and Revivals over the years were unlucky enough to NOT have a cast album made???
As far as I know they didn't make one of "A Tale of Two Cities" although they made a promotional album which you might find on bootleg...
I'm kinda thinking that BRIEF ENCOUNTER will probably not have one made either since the PAL JOEY revival last year didn't get one ....
what else?????

... "A Tale of Two Cities" took it's four leads and made a cast album billed as the "International Cast Album," available through their website.
James Barbour, Brandi Burkhardt, Kevin Earley & Natalie Toro reprise their roles, with some British actors as well as old Tale favourites on it.
They also recorded the concert in London, played it on PBS last year from Dec - Jan, and then released it on DVD as well.

Oh Cool I never saw the concert on PBS
Is there an audio recording of it?
Lestat recorded a cast album that was never released. And of course there's Cry Baby.
Many revivals got no cast recordings, Pal Joey being one of the latest.
Sadly, the revival of Ragtime did not.
More often than not, flops and revivals are not recorded. Damn I wish they had recorded at least something from Got Tu Go Disco.

The off Broadways and Broadway cast recording of James Joyce The Dead. I know a recording was made at some regional theatre. I'd love to hear "I'm a Naughty Girl" once again.

There never was an original Broadway cast recording of PHANTOM, was there?
No, there never was. Lately a lot of Roundabout revivals are going unrecorded. I'm still sad we never got an APPLE TREE cd.
There must be more than 100 that never got cast albums over the years since the LP came out. Even successful shows like "Mary Poppins" never got a BCR, they just sell the London cast CD. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang didn't, still waiting to hear more of Erin Dilly than her one singing appearance on CD.
I looked for "Fig Leaves are Falling" for years and only found a demo 45.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned "Mamma Mia." No record of Louise Pitre, Karen Mason, Judy Kaye, Tina Maddigan, et al.
Pitre did record two ABBA songs for a solo album, but the only cast album released here has been of the London cast.
In My Life had a promo CD, but no full cast recording.

Even though I never saw the show, I wish Lennon had recorded a cast recording...love to hear that cast!

Dance of the Vampires...which is a shame because, say what you want about the show itself, but the cast was phenomenal and the score (or what was left of it) was out of this world!

do you think sister act will get a broadway recording or do you think they will just sell the london recording when it opens in new york?
Mister Matt, where can I find the promo for In My Life. I find that show fascinatingly terrible but there is such little info on it.
"Lolita, My Love" never got a cast recording. I know there has to be more...
