Imw8880 and broadwayfan7...THANK U for the well wishes!
I do plan to have fun, and enjoy every minute of my Broadway!
Thomas14850ny2...wow, what a great thing you got to see Eddie Albert and in Miss Liberty! I've been a fan of his from the Green Acres days, and also liked him as a person, very much. I wish I had gotten to see him onstage, what a thrill it must have been (besides the fact that the music was Irvin Berlin's...) :)

"My One and Only," starring Tommy Tune and Twiggy, in 1983.
I'm actually surprised by many of the answers in this thread -- quite a few of your first shows are so recent. I guess many of you are very young, or live very far from NYC.

BTW...I thought Phantom was going to be the one most mentioned, but seems like Beauty and The Beast beat it...?
Mamma Mia!-Last year for my 23rd birthday.
My older sister took me to see GREASE in the mid-late 70's. I hated it, but since I had already been performing since the late 60's I was hooked past the point of no return.
I think Barnum or ACL (original production, obviously) was next...and I loved them.

Miss Saigon in '93. I missed Lea Salonga by a couple of weeks and I was heartbroken. My second show was Les Mis Revival(to finally see Lea) last year and I have seen approx. 50 shows since.
Oh no I'm wrong, I saw The Crucible in ummm '89 I think with Justine Bateman. It sucked so that's why I tend to forget about it.
beauty and the beast
My first Broadway show was Beauty in the Beast. The first show that I actually remember seeing on Broadway was The Sound of Music revival.
1776. The Gershwin. Spring of 1998.
That was the first BROADWAY show I ever saw.
I was 10 years old.
Now, in 2008, some 10 years later,
I just caught my 62nd show (On and/or Off-Broadway)
in the ADD1NG MACH1N3 yesterday afternoon.
I can't remember the first *show* I ever saw.
I was engulfed in 'theatre' my entire life.
It's what I love, it's what I do.
Rent, June 2, 2008.
WICKED on March 26, 2005.
IN NEW YORK my first show was Mamma Mia...didn't really get me hooked though. I'm not sure what my first national tour was, it was either Annie or The Lion King

Wicked, March 2006. It was incredible, completely made me realize performing is what I wanted to do for a living. Megan Hilty and Eden Espinosa were incredible that night.
