Here's the thing.
I'm a huge fan of the discount theatre tix. I'm on the mailing list, and I always get flyers that say "Hey, our tix are $100.00 bucks, but you pay half that.
I always jump on the "half that."
Today, I got a flyer from "White Christmas." And I opened it. And the DISCOUNT was $104.00.
Top tix price for this show is $147.50.
Are you kidding me?
Are you gonna pay that much?
I'm not going to pay even half price.
Ever.

I will watch the movie instead
Obviously the producers have not been reading the papers or watching the news lately. These boys are in need of a stay @ a mental institution.

"It's a limited run. They want to make as much money as they can."
And they will. It is one of the few family shows on Broadway that everyone will want to see because of the holiday theme attached to it. Call it greedy, but people will still buy tickets. Maybe it won't be a groundbreaking hit sell-out, but I think it may sell sufficiently well.

Posted: 10/22/08 at 9:54amI agree by saying that I think the show will be a big success during its run.

Posted: 10/22/08 at 9:57amThere's a discount at nytix for, if I remember correctly, $84 but that discount is only good for Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Discounts! Discounts! Discounts! thats all people on here ever want! Something for almost nothing!
The show is only playing a season of 65 performances and I guess there's a lot of cash being thrown at this transfer so they probably would like to make some of it back!
It's a business!
I saw the show in San Francisco two years ago and again last year, the UK production with Lorna Luft and it is a truly stunning show- worth every dime!

Posted: 10/22/08 at 10:18amWell, I'm in. My husband and I are from Texas and we are coming in to celebrate his birthday and our anniversary on the same weekend in November. This is one of his favorite movies of all time so it was definitely worth it for me. I'm surprising him! I can't wait to see how they handle those huge production numbers from the movie! Yes, I think the price is high but they know that those of us who are coming in from out of town for special occasions or just to celebrate the holidays are going to go for it! Your corner of the world is very special to us...we love coming there so much. :)

The 'I Love A Piano' number is an amazing song and dance number in the good old Broadway style.
You'll love it!

Complain about the price? I didn't pay near that for a Sunday matinee 4th row center,
If you want to discuss horrible prices, what about $250 for Radio City!
