Laura Benanti and Nathan Lane!
NPH was doing HIMYM (How I Met Your Mother
) when he and CBS leveraged the TONY gigs. The 3 networks are all about the synergy that can keep their audience aligned. Corden, the new late night host who just happens to star in the big screen version of Into the Woods is a lock.
CBS star Allison Janney.

Well since it's only 9 months away, clearly a decision needs to be made now.
How about Tony Shalhoub and Tony Goldwyn. "The Tonys host the Tonys".

I think James Corden would be the perfect package: Both the Tony-winning actor and the TV host

Not sure why everyone keeps suggesting Benanti.
She just signed on for a reoccurring role with ABC's Nashville and is far from a national, or even recognizable, star. The girl was doing guest spots on a barely watched USA Network show just last year. She ain't no Hugh or Neil, she ain't going to attract viewers, and she ain't hosting.
One day everyone on here will find a way to accept this and not set themselves up for disappointment... every single year.
I would love to see a woman do it again. I love the idea of Alison Janney, but the general public knows who she is, they just don't know her by name. They would have to plug a movie of hers so people would say "Oh! The mom from The Help" or "Malissa McCarthy's mom from Tammy!". While we are on this topic, how about Malissa? She has a show on CBS, is an Emmy winner, and is known by the general public.

She has zero connection to the Broadway community, though....
Allison Janney was in "9 to 5" actually, so yes she has done Broadway.

I was responding to gleek's suggestion of Melissa.
Oh, ok. My bad. I thought you meant Janney.
I love the idea of a male/female duo. That's a nice compromise.
Honestly, I'd love for NPH to do it again. I think he's been the best host of the show for some time now.
And while it WOULD be great to have a female host again, I'm having trouble thinking of who that would be--someone who is very funny but not too niche, has broad appeal to bring in a national audience, and has just enough gravitas to lend an air of respectability...it's a small group of people. Would Anna Kendrick be a crazy idea?
I wish Tina Fey had a connection to Broadway, because I like her. I think she'd be great.
I'd be fine with NPH.
I think Nathan Lane would be a great host.
Isn't Tina Fey supposedly working on a musical adaptation of Mean Girls? If so, she might be a viable host if/when that comes to fruition.
Why not Audra?
Audra isn't as famous or hip as Tina Fey, talented as she may be. I don't think of her as the dynamic host type of material.
How about Rob Lowe and Snow White? I mean that was GOLD during the Oscars.

"I think it's disgusting that they don't trust any woman to host."
Dreaming, which of these is not a woman? All have been labelled as host of the Tony Awards.
Angela Lansbury
Rosie O'Donnell
Glenn Close
Whoopi Goldberg
Bernadette Peters
Liza Minnelli
It's been way too long since we've had a female host.
But I guess I'm not surprised.
