Bean leaves in January when her contract is up. She has confirmed this in several places. She has said that she wants an R&B career. She has no interest in doing Broadway ever again (her words, not mine). NO replacement is announced, but Ana Gasteyer is the big rumor.

I'm just amazed how much she's shot her mouth off regarding this. I thought she blew in the role, personally. Harsh voice. Too many "tricks". Horrible actress.
She has said she'd only do Broadway if it was Funny Girl, which she is all wrong for.

Chitty never gave me a headache.
But once Em is riding Raul, he will create the proper sounds.

It was just confirmed, Angelina Jolie will play Elphaba in the movie version. Ellen is playing Glinda.

Do you live on this planet?
Bean was a horrible Elphaba. If they ever did a movie (and that'll be the day, in my opinion), they won't do so without big names attached. Bean isn't known to anyone except the Broadway community.
