yeah...she is tall, i couldn't picture her as Clara...but just saying she was good in Fiddler.

For what it's worth, Sarah was the best Belle I ever saw. And as I said before, the only reason I wouldn't want to see her try her hand at Clara is because she is AMAZING as Franca.

Keep in mind that Kelli moved over from that role, so it's not an impossibility. I do think the production would benefit from some new blood, though I wonder how well Vicki and the new Clara will gel as a mother-daughter pair.

Brooke Sheilds will be filling in for Victoria during a short vacation she's taking.

And Christy Carlson Romano will be taking over for Kelli O'Hara.

I have it on very good authority that he producers are going for a "star" and that Loretta Swit is in talks to take over the role of Clara. This is exciting news indeed!

Eventhough im Brooke's # 1 fan...she couldn't hit the notes the charachter requires...Dollypop...do you have any clue if Jennifer Wills auditioned for the role? Who is Lorretta?? does Jennifer qualify as a "star"? She had a starring role opposite Brooke Shields...but still not sure if she is a big star though.
There is just something like childish about Jennifer...that's why i think she would be perfect for the role, and of course she has the vocal and acting hability and the look of Clara.

I saw the show yesterday and spoke to Vicki. She said they still haven't made a decision, but time is running out, so hopefully we'll hear soon!

again, my guess is that she did..... however, you also need to understand that when they are putting out this kind of replacement call, EVERYONE available who remotely fits the description is seen.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Hilary Duff ...i actually enjoy some of her songs...but she is way too young...she can't really sing or act and she is 18yo...Clara is 26yo....besides that girl looks like a stick now.

Not meaning to make this awful, but I would slit my wrists if they cast ANY Disney star in Piazza, especially Hilary Duff.

Now, knowing that they wouldn't EVER do that, I am eagerly waiting to hear who they are going to cast! I love Megan McGinnis's voice, but I don't know how well it would suit Clara. Too bad Matty left Piazza already, because they are friends. She also kind of looks Italian.

Anyway, I hope they have good auditioners, because like Matty, they are going to be hard shoes to fill. I can't even believe Kelli's leaving.

this will be tough because Victoria Clark isn't really THAT old so they have to be careful who goes in that role. with an older actress in Vicky's role Sarah Berry would probably be lovely as clara..(she was NOT a good Belle but the BEST EPonine there EVER was! Her Belle was like Eponine on crack)..but opposite Vicky, i am afraid that Sarah is just too old.
is anyone forgettting that Kelli has become a respected Broadway star because of this show?..i mean she wasn't any more known as Jennifer when she started with Piazza..Dracula was a joke (and Kelli will be the first to admit that)...so i seriously hope that they aren't looking for a star name to join the company..it isn't necessary. the piece obviously speaks for itself. as far as megan mcginnis..while i am sure she is a lovely girl...she IS NOT physically appropriate for the role...cute in a quirky way..but not BEAUTIFUL enough for Clara.
i wish that they would give Celia a leave from spelling bee to do clara...apparently she was amazing...and what i wouldn't give to see Stephen Pasquale in the role..he is an amazing actor and singer..i can't imagine anyone being better than him.

even thought that sounded a bit HARSH. i have to agree. Megan is really CUTE and PRETTY. Kelli is just STUNNING. but aside from that, looks shouldnt be the end all be all of casting. though they obviously shouldnt get someone whose 6ft 2 and 38 looking

as far as good auditioners go, koren... trust me, A LOT of very capable women went in.

I know everyone's jonesing for Celia to return to the role of Clara, but keep in mind that she was actually let go from the production after Chicago, so the chances of her actually playing the role on Broadway are very slim.

And I think Clara's supposed to look more American than Italian, which means dark featured people like Megan McGinnis are out. Jennifer Hope Wills would be my pick, but they still have yet to announce who it is!!!

Blanche is a friend of Jennifer's ...so he/she will be the 1st one to know if Jennifer Hope Wills auditioned for the role. It's funny that actors don't tell anyone about their work until they sing the contract...which is the way it should be. But it makes me laugh that eventho Jennifer seems to be a close friend of Blanche's, she still won't even tell him if she actually auditioned for the role of Clara.

Kelli is leaving in 2.5 weeks...why hasn't the replacement been announced yet? The suspense is killing me!
