I absolutely do not think that Megan McGinnis should play Clara. I saw her her LW and thought she was wonderful, but I honestly don't think she could handle Clara's part. Maybe it was jiust the show, but that's my opinion. I don't think any of the LW cast could really play Clara, except for Jenny Powers (if they could get her a wig).
Oh well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. If they do happen to cast Megan (although I'm still hoping for JHW), I would go see her anyway.

Hey guys-
I saw the show again (#5) tonight.... still amazing......Ran into Bartlett Sher and Laura Griffith (the AMAZING dance captain, Franca u/s, whom I've seen as Franca twice) who swung out tonight to take notes, at intermission. Mr. Sher said that they have yet to find a Clara, which to me is a good sign, cause that mmeans she'll be all the moreamazing when they do find her. Jennifer Hughes will also apparently be on for a few performances as Clara after Kelli leaves. Either way, here's to the yet to be named amazing new Clara!

My friend Katie Clarke from Sam Houston State University (down here in Texas) just signed the contract to replace Kelli O'Hara in The Light in the Piazza.
I can't believe it. I'm ecstatic. She hasn't even graduated yet!

If she signed the contract, then that means it DID work out. However, I have A VERY hard time believing thats true. They saw some new people this morning.

If she has signed the contract, that means its worked out, signed, sealed, done. And if there is any chance it WON'T work out, that means she has NOT signed the contract.

And what I really meant by "I hope it works out" is really "I hope I'm not mistaken and she's replacing an understudy that's being moved up to Clara." Because that would make more sense, right? I know this is odd.
Well, either way it's exciting for our university. :)
