A friend of mine was at the auidition for Clara and said they were VERY interested in Megan Mcginnis... I don't know how that all panned out... but Augustus Gloop seems to be on the right track...

Could they wig Megan McGinnis if they cast her? I don't know if they used a wig for Kelli or not, but Megan is definitely pale enough that lighter hair might not look bad on her, if it's the right light color. They could end up with someone that isn't really known (like someone who's done some chorus work and understudying). I would bet (timing wise) that the new Clara will be announced by the end of this week.

I know Celia didn't, but I was thinking that I saw saw something where Victoria Clark mentioned her wigs, so I thought maybe Kelli did, too. Maybe they COULD wig Megan?

There is generally not just one audition for a replacement..... usually Casting Directors and agents will coordinate appointment times for the actress to come in and sing/read etc... Its not like "Yes, but she can only come on the audition day for Clara"... these things are generally spread out.

Jennifer Hope Wills...im posting one more pic of her in Wonderful Town....she is the perfect Clara...anyhow...even if she doesn't work for Piazza...i hope she gets a starring role in any other show on Broadway.

I think Jessica is adorable but I personally think she would read too young. Remember, Clara is supposed to look like a beautiful grown woman but just have a childlike nature. Look at Kelli...she looks like a sexy, mature woman but just has this quality about her that is childlike. She is glorious in this role.

She might...but Victoria also is pretty young to have a 26 year old daughter. It may also be easier for the audience to get the mental disability if she looks younger, too.

if they are going to start 'wigging' people, why not wig Laura Benanti? she has a light complextion/eyes. she could be blonde, right?

edit-forgot about Wedding Singer. BUT if she wasnt, shed be great as clara!

True, but I think that is part of what makes Clara so interesting. She is this gorgeous beautiful woman and yet something just is a little "off" about her. I would personally love to see Jessica as Belle or Ariel.

I am Laura Benanti's #1 fan.

That said, not here. as Franca, yes. But she is SO womanly that it wouldn't work, besides, she is tied up w/ Wedding Singer :)

-Jessica Grove looks too young...she is gorgeous though
-Victoria Clark is totally believable as the mother of a 26yo...she looks 50 to me.
-Jennifer Wills doesn't look old..she could play a 26yo

bwaybug...that pic show Jennifer Wills and Brooke Shields doing one of the last numbers from Wonderful Town called "the wrong note rag" which is a little goofy...so they look bad ....but it's like a funny number.

Doogie- I know that... I was just sharing the little bit of information I know on the subject. Which is why I said I don't know how it all panned out... meaning at a call back or whatever. You shouldn't assume people don't know stuff. Especially when I adressed the issue in the same post. It's kind of insulting.

Late in commenting, but I wrote "Megan looks Italian" as a disadvantage. Obviously, Clara is American.
