I saw Melanie Brown, Karmine Alers, Krystal L. Washington, Rosario Dawson(movie) and Tallia Brinson. I think Karmine was a good Maureen one other time that i saw her...but i hated her as Mimi. Melanie Brown was pretty bad even though her voice in the Spice Girls'cd sounds a lot like Daphne's i think and she definitly has the Mimi "look", Tallia was good, Rosario was good...but her singing voice wasn't powerful at all...and last but not least, I think that Krystal L. Washington is just amazing...she is the best Mimi.

This past sunday I saw Antonique Smith as Mimi. Her voice is just phenominal. It was the first time I had seen the show, so I only have Rossario and Daphne to compare her to, but I thought she was an excellent Mimi.

I didn't. Marcy was, I believe, the first Mimi after Daphne. I saw her Mimi more than any other.
Sharon Leal. I've only seen two Mimis, though. (Dominique Roy was the other. I did like her as well.)
scary spice was my favorite mimi of all time!!! she captured the essence of mimi through and through. i felt lowering the key by 5 steps for all of her songs really added to the overall intensity of mimi's angst as she was going through her aids battle. also the greatest moment for me as far as really grasping mimi was scary's brilliant approach to her monologue at angel's funeral when she made the most spectacular acting choice to have a british accent during her speech!!!! WOW!!! i mean if you think about it mimi would be culturally aware like that... being from spanish harlem...
AGAIN: scary spice = BRILLIANT MIMI!!!!
LMAO.
Melanie sounded like she smoked 10 packs of malboro before each show
I agree with you on Karmine, I thought that she was awesome!!
Marcy Harriell. She was ferocious.

The only one I have seen live is Antonique Smith. But I definately prefer her to Rosario or Daphne.

Seeing as I saw the Orginal Cast back in 1996, and no other cast since then, I would have to say my favorite is definitely Daphne. Seeing that original company was, for me, one of the most perfect theatrical experiences of my theatre-going career. And I have been seeing shows since I was 6! That's 25 years. Each and every one of those people were amazing in their roles, much like the original company of RAGTIME, perfectly cast. The reason I have never gone back to see the show again is because I never wanted anything to tamper with that vision that is still very clear in my head, nearly 10 years later.
Maya Days (surprise, surprise)
Of course, at the time she was known as Laura Dias.
Rosario Dawson captured everthing I loved about the character, and even put a spin on it.
Loraine Velez is my all time favorite Mimi, followed by Maya Days.
When I saw Maya Days in Rent she was going by Maya Days. When did she change her name from Lauren Dias?

Maya was Laura's recording name. When she was first in Rent she went by Laura. Then she became somewhat of a celebrity in Europe with her group the tamperer. Their big hit was "feel it", so when she went over to london to join that cast, she went with the name everyone knew her by over there. Ever since then her stage name has been Maya

Wax Lion's takin' revenge....
Live? Karmine. Though Rosario.... oh, I don't know.
Hehe, Wax Lion is my favorite.
When she was on form, Krysten Cummings.
Maya Days made Sara Ramirez look like Ethel Merman in the attendance stakes in her London run.
I loved Simone as Mimi...hated Scarry spice...thought Karmine was ok...missed the edge with Rosario.
