I have seen so many, that is is hard to remember what I liked/disliked about everyone. Most recently I had the pleasure of seeing Antonique Smith, and I loved her. She was probably not my favorite, but she was damn good. Although it seems her voice is limited to mostly belting, which she did very well, she is an undeniably fantastic actor. She brought a new depth to the character that I had never seen on stage before.

Or Life Is Yours To Miss
No Other Road

NO DAY BUT TODAY!
Once upon a time I was a shy young thing
Could barely walk and talk so much as dance and sing
But let me hit that stage I wanna take my bow
Cause Mama I'm a big girl now!

Definitely Jaime Lee Kirchner. She was fierce and totally rock and roll. Plus her acting chops are very impressive. She's the only one I've seen that could compare with Daphne. (Out of Karmine Alers, Dominique Roy, Scary Spice, Jaime Lee Kirchner, Tallia Brinson, and Krystal Washington)

I recently saw Antonique 2x, and her voice is PHENOMINAL.. at first I was hesitant about her acting, she was a really "ghetto" Mimi, but by act II she was amazing overall.
And you can't help but love her Shoshana riffs.

Well I've only seen the actual show once and the movie a bunch of times and of course the OBC recording:
Antonique Smith was F*cking Amazing!! Omg I can't get over it. I want to be her.
Rosario Dawson was Amazing!! I looooved her in the movie. I want to be her too.
And I wish could've seen Daphne Rubin-Vega, but on the cd she is Amazing too!! Her voice fit Mimi realllly well.

The one time I got to see Rent on Broadway, Mel B. was in it hmph! Seeing Marcy in Lennon, she would have rocked as Mimi.
If Percy Blakeney were in Les Mis....
Percy: Sink me! If it isn't Javvurt!
Javert: Zsah-vair, it's pronounced Zsah-vair.
Pecry: But it's spelled J-A-V-E-R-T Javvurt.
Javert: Repeat after me Zsah...Zsah....
Percy: Oh! Zsa-Zsa! Like the Gabor sister! Well I personally have always prefered Eva.
Javert: (Looks for gun)

Karmine is a great performer...i have seen her as the begger woman....and of course she can't sing like Frenchie Davis....but she did alright. Then i think she was a terrible Mimi...and a great Maureen...i just don't like her as Mimi.

you know, i NEVER thought I'd agree with muscle about ANYTHING, but Krystal Washington by a mile. interestingly enough tho, she was FAAAAAAAAAAR better when i saw her on the non-eq tour than when i saw her on bway.

I have to agree about Krystal being amazing. My favorite mimi by far.
Also, i don't really like Kramine as Mimi (she sucks at stage crying). I do love karmine, just not in that role.

My favorite of all time is Karmine. I thought she was the stand-out in the cast that I saw (last March). She and Roger had such chemistry, and her voice is so powerful. And her acting was right on par. She was AMAZING.

Krystal L. Washington is amazing as Mimi. To me, Karmine Allers's performance was lacking...she looks the part, but I was overall umimpressed.
Rosario's portrayal of Mimi is perfect for film. I'm a fan of her voice.

Played the part on the UK tour and in the West End. Brilliant performer and did the octave leap in Out Tonight with a full on belt. Incredible. Plus like most Mimi's I have seen she looked stunning

Karmine is pretty good. Antonique is pretty bad, but Krystal was absolutely horrible.
My favorite, by FAR, is Dominique Roy, who performed the most stunning Out Tonight and Without You I have ever heard.
