Pretty much. I will say it's certainly not awful material. As far as these sorts of off-Broadway things go... Sex Tips For Straight Women From a Gay Man, etc. there's a lot more effort here. As expected with all the rhyming there's a clunky line or two but overall it works well. I thought it was a lot smoother than the similar Desperate Measures which was very hit or miss with its commitment to aping the form it was parodying. I don't think you HAVE to be a fan of Lesli to enjoy it but you have to be willing to go along with the play. It's not that compelling in and of itself. It's not like the story of Cindy Lou Who was this rich material crying out for an adaptation. But I think the play makes an effort to tell a decent story. If you're really sensitive you might be offended but if you don't mind the language, the show is really quite tame. By today's standards where it goes with the substance abuse, etc. is not really shocking. You'd find more scandalous material at any number of drag shows.

It's a little clunky around issues of diversity and prejudice and really how sympathetic we're supposed to find the Grinch in general. But it's a funny and entertaining night. I kind of wish they would have included more songs in shorter snippets or chosen more meaningful songs. Their rap is... interesting. By which I mean not great.

I can and wouldn't see it.

Agreed.  Drag Race makes me cringe.

The play itself is fine, albeit it very enjoyable, and Lesli is terrific in the role. Definitely a fun hour in the theater.

We caught this show this past Saturday night and really enjoyed it.  Leslie Margherita was great.  I found the set really beautiful and very interesting to look at.  the only problem I had with the show was that it goes to a very dark place not once but twice and could have been a bit more lighter for a "Holiday" show.  We had TDF tickets so I was beyond surprised at how much the regular ticket prices are for a show a little over an hour.  As fun as it was, it was not worth paying full price for.

I just watched the BCEFA stream and found it wonderful. I found it hilarious and moving, Lesli really shines. You have until Tuesday to catch it. I was really sad I missed it off-broadway as I LOVE the Grinch so I was glad to have another chance to watch it.

Just watched the YouTube stream and was delighted by this little show. It's hilarious, heartbreaking, and uplifting.
