Not me.
Grease has never been on my list of favorites. Actually, it's probably one of my least favorite musicals. Why subject myself to a headache when spring semester starts tomorrow and I already have a menacing stack of homework on my hands?
This show is amusing. Marshall is wasting her time giving people who are clearly not appropriate for these roles second chances. Broadway is a huge investment; tourists are not going to pay big bucks to watch the frizzy-haired stubby teenage girl play opposite a middle-aged guy with gray hair.
I'm not watching it, but I caught the last few minutes tonight before The Apprentice. I agree with Evelyn. A lot of the contestants are not the right type at all. And how suspenseful and dramatic can you make the elimination process?
Never really intrigued me to watch it.
Any excuse for a man, a woman, and a British man to berate other human beings for their differences on live TV.
Have we not seen this formula before??
I don't understand the title. According to my OBCR, that song isn't even in the show.
I wish I hadn't.
Marshall should be Banned from BWay after this.
OK that's a bit much, but her reputation should at least be tarnished for the makeover alone.
How much do you think NBC is paying to essentially buy out her career?
Enough I hope to give up this crap and find a new musical and make it on her own terms.
Oh wait, she doesn't do that.
Take the $ and run.
I so have lost any respect i had for her when she took over ENCORES.
God I wish that they would actually do a show that people actually care about or even want to see. No one cares. Period.
You're the One that I Want is from the Movie and was added basically to most productions after that.....i am watching just because i feel we should support anything that promotes broadway
Just wanted to *raise hand* also...
I think this Broadway mainstream fad should end. Let's not fill any more theaters with movie-based musicals, or overdone, tired revivals.
i am watching just because i feel we should support anything that promotes broadway
This TV show defaces Broadway.
This is not promoting Broadway. Sad to say, the "general" American audiences are not as tuned into the theater as the "English" are.
For all we know they'll vote Taylor Hicks as Danny Zuko and let Linda Blair revisit her role as Rizzo (just as long as she has a scene where she spits out pea soup)
While we're at it...let's throw Megan Mullally back in there as Marty.
S**t let's just bring back the whole cast again...I know people will come to see Rosie.
I watched the show ... Do I regret it?
HELL YES!
What a waste of an hour and a half of life.
As much as I love the theatre, I can't attest to that holding true for this 'show' -- It's horrendous.
Never again.

I wouldn't watch it, or "The Apprentice" under any conditions.
Exactly,
No matter how much you love theatre, this show isn't a reflection of that.
It's just ridiculous.
>>raises hand<<
I caught most [not all] of the show and all I can say is, I'm probably not going to watch again. Unless I need to point and laugh at something, but I have MTV for that.

The only thing wrong with this show is that it is so boring. It really makes you realize how skillful AI is in pulling you in. Also, there's really a lot at stake on AI.That show (to my amazement) really can make people into big stars. God, Jennifer Hudson could win an Oscar this year! Who is really interested in who is cast in a Grease revival? Most people I know wouldn't even want it on their resumes.
And can't they have at least one flaky judge who you can barely make it from one episode to the next? Maybe Betty Buckley is available.

Well...I was hoping they'd have some legit theatre actors on, and I'm pretty sure that Juliana Ashley Hansen (she was on the promo for next wk, singing "Something to Talk About") makes the final 12 for the TV voting...so I'm happy about that. I love her, just cant picture her blonde!
