*raises hand as well* I watched Cold Case
Not me
I watched a half hour of Lingo before The Apprentice went on
No way, and never will
I watched. The judges were being far too nice.
The only reason they are doing Grease is because it is the arguably the most widely known musical of today. That will lure in some viewers.
The british judge says that he thinks the worst thing that could happen is this TV shows fails, and everyone thinks it's a dumb I idea. I pray they don't make it into the top 100 on the Nielson ratings.
Linda Blair was one of the best Rizzos the last revival had. Those who knock her performance obviously didn't see it.

Your right that song, along with Hopelessly Devoted to you" and "Sandy" were written for the movie. However in the 1990's a London productionw that put all the songs from the movie in it, and it was very successful. It is this version I believe is being revived on Broadway.

I was all set to boycott this silliness, especially after watching the horrendouly boring first episode, and then I found out I know someone in the top 12 and will watch out of obligation.

OK The way I understand all this nonsense is the station is presenting this show because the Maria show was so popular in the UK. But they at least found someone who had trained for musical theatre. So now we are doing it and they are doing it again trying to cast "Joseph". I think the baseline idea here is that since Broadway depends on tourism, the rationale is that the tourists will pick who they want to see. But the fact is the people who vote in these contests represent a factor of nothing when it comes to the box office on Broadway. My opinion.
Not me -- was painting my boyfriend's new condo
i tried to watch it last night but 2 minutes into it i felt sick to my stomach.
Yup...I watched it. Enjoyed it for what it is -- an AMERICAN IDOL-ish take on a Broadway cattle call. Nothing more; nothing less.
At least this crap is exposing a whole new generation of kids and people to what this thing called BROADWAY is. Seems alot of people think it's a multi-plex theatre in New York where all the musicals perform.
I've been fortunate to have been exposed to Broadway and New York City at an extremely young age, but lots of folk will either never set foot in New York City or even care about this 'Broadway' thing. At least this mess of a show will open some windows in their brains and brighten their feeble little lives with some culture and exposure to some level of 'performing arts'.
Just embrace it for what it is, folks.

I'm one of the few people on the planet who hates "American Idol" and this show is just ripping off that format. Besides my Sunday nights belong to "The Simpsons" and "Family Guy."

I will never watch this. Ever. I don't watch American Idol or any of its ripoffs. These shows are so pointless.
Since I hate all "Reality Shows" (which are mostly GAME SHOWS in disguise), NO, I'm not watching.
I can't even make it through one of these promo spots without changing the channel. I have no desire to see it whatsoever.
Just brace yourselves, BWW, for all the die-hard "fans" of this nose-picking, mind-numbing show to storm Broadway when it finally opens. Lowering the bar of acceptable audience behavior to absolute bottom, no doubt.
Can't wait.
Get your tickets now to watch "talentless, forgettable fluff number one" pair up "with talentless, forgettable fluff number two!" Guaranteed to thrill.
Happily skipping it. It's easy! Try it!
I'll admit that I watched out of morbid curiosity, but I shan't be making that mistake again.
I did have fun berating my somewhat ignorant roommate for making an incredibly racist statement during the show, however.

Sometimes I forget why I love you, b12b. And then you say something like this and I want to squeeze your precious cheeks.
This is one show (actually, there are many) that makes me happy I don't have a tv.
I was in the local cafe and they had this on.
It was cringe-worthy.
i agree.. grease has never been near and dear to me.
not really a fan, i mean i enjoy the movie just as much as the next person but there's no need to make a reality TV show about it. they need to get some new material. ick.

I was going to, but then I saw that Christopher Titus's comedy special "Norman Rockwell Is Bleeding" was on at the same time, so I watched that instead.
Didn't see it. Is it good?

Im not going to anymore, its just so... bleak. Not amusing at all, dull, obnoxious, etc... over it.
I'm quoting out of context, but, you get the point.
"These shows are so pointless."
Aren't ALL shows pointless? Not just American Idol, Survivor, etc, but Law and Order, Cold Case, CSI, the Simpsons, et al?
I love American Idol, but I dunno if I'll watch Grease!: YTOTIW every week.
No thanks! I watched Cold Case.
Grease was my favorite movie growing up (when you are blonde and named Sandra...kinda comes with the territory), but I just hate 95% of reality shows, and think they are pointless. So therefore I am personally boycotting, just like I have boycotted American Idol every season.
I wish I could go back in time and not have watched it. Agreed with everyone who said how painfully boring it was.
