I love you, Princeton78. And if that's you in the photo, will you marry me? :)

"I'm from a small town in Washington state, and when I was seven, my mom took me to a garage sale, and I found a cast album of Annie. And I proudly announced that I was going to be the first boy to ever play Annie." -Cheyenne Jackson

My vote goes to Bea Arthur and Betty White. How about Estelle Getty as Boq?

Unfortunately I bet that Eden will be replacing Shoshana. Although I know we are all human and most girls cannot belt an F above middle C I would say that it is Broadway and whoever is talented enough to be granted the role of Elphaba on Broadway should have the vocal shops to do it well every night. People are paying 100 dollars a ticket to see it and i dont think straining, cracking, and screaming (in the cast of Eden) are acceptable. Shoshanna and Kristy mix it and it sounds phenomenal. They apparentlly have training and are able to give the paying audiences what they deserve.

I'd pay full price to watch Sutton cut her toe nails, but I don't think she'd work in Wicked. She could do Nessa, but that's a thankless role that no Tony winning actress should take over.

sherie renee scott gets my vote. Its been fairly established that she and idina have similar ranges (the've replaced each other twice) so i'm sure she could handle it. Not to mention that it would bring the grand total of elphabas on the actor's fund hair cd up to 5 i believe (brandi(the u/s in the b'way company), ana, shoshana, and eden are the other 4)
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel

I don't know about Sherie...her voice tone just doesn't seem very Elphaba-y...

Phoebe Cates as Elphaba! :-P
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

I'm gonna throw in my vote for Ana. I know I'm among a minority.... but I think she's amazing in the role. Her timing is perfect on the delievery.... and her voice is very very good and unique. She has mentioned that she wants to develop her theater career more, as she enjoys the discipline and focus of the craft. She has proven herself here in Chicago, getting rid of all the "snl? can she sing?" critics. It would be sad to see her go, but she deserves it. GO ANA!
