Who should be the next Mame?

No one could come close to being better than Angela Lansbury, but I am curious who could lead a revival of this musical theatre classic!

The idea is to work and to experiment. Some things will be creatively successful, some things will succeed at the box office, and some things will only - which is the biggest only - teach you things that see the future. And they're probably as valuable as any of your successes. -Harold Prince

Sorry. I did search and didn’t find it. Thanks for posting it.

No one.  The piece is too dated to be performed in its present form.  "the South will rise again!"  yikes, that's not even funny anymore.  Now, let's kill this thread.

Unrelated to who should next play Mame ––

In Marilyn Maye's version of IT'S TODAY, there's a new-to-me bridge in the middle of the song ("i know every day is a winner, to me every day is a gift" etc). Did Jerry Herman write that for a radio version of the song? Or is that interpolated from another song?
