To those who suggested Ms. Mullaly was too old...I have to agree, despite her enoroumous talents. I don't think she'd be able to pass for a college student, jmo. Although Kristin isn't really a spring chicken either and I didn't think (although she's lovely), she passed for a college student, either. :)

I'm anxious to see LBB in the role. Some people claim she's very good, others say she's not. She'll obviously be compared to Ms. Chenowith, fair or not and people will have their opinions regardless. I have heard her chemistry with Idina is very good, though. Any thoughts ?

Laura did a decent job of playing Glinda...but I think her largest problem is that rather than really owning the role, she seems to just copy Kristin Chenoweth because she does so well in the role. For example, during Popular, she was just doing everything Kristin did, and it just didn't seem to work for her. I think she should just throw her own flavor into the role, and maybe it'll work better for her. Otherwise, I think her comedy shows a strong potential, and maybe she'll really make the role her own when she finally takes over. As far as her dramatic acting (For Good)...I think she lacks the sincerity that Chenoweth has...I felt Laura was not completely feeling those heartbreaking moments.

Vocally she is all there.

Congrats to Laura she seems perfect for that role.
I only saw Wicked once. Looks like I have to see it again.
I do think Kerry Butler would have made a great Glinda.

Megan Mullally, despite her age, i think would be perfect. if you put a blonde wig on her and shrink her a few inches, she IS kristin, but i think that whoever takes over for kristin will have to really work at the role to get it as perfect as she has it.
